I get where you're coming from and it's a really crappy situation to be in. If it was me that it happened to I'd be screwed.. my team is so close to the cap that I couldn't take on another 4m contract. He only offered that much because faulk is a young good defender and the guys you're offering are obvious dumps. You might have to find a way to take on the 4m and just trade him a 7th round pick.

Just remember this was all offered before we really had a chance to know who was 'off limits'. This isn't because he advanced to fast.. I kept up with him when he said "be on your toes", so I sat there waiting and made sure I signed every player I wanted to keep.

I hope all of you GMs can work out FAIR deals to resolve these signings.

Thank you L.A. for your reasonableness. If only all the players followed your steps and actually listened to me none of this would be an issue. I thought Faulk was available so I signed him to what I was willing to pay for him. If you want him back then fine take him. But it'll be for a 7th. Or I will just take Souray. I am not giving you one of my depth D just because I signed him to something you're not happy with. It was a mistake. And I do not see why I should have to dump someone in the minors when you can do the same. It's your choice, give me souray if you're worried about cap or give me 7th rounder. Whatever works best for you. This is foolish. Have you all forgotten who the Commish is and who sets the rules. You are all claiming players and what not, lol, without even asking me. Of course I made the rule for the one advancement but perhaps you shouldn't just make rules without discussing them with me or the Hawk's GM.

Anyways, your call Canes, but I am not giving you one of my depth D's because you don't like the contract which I signed him too. And your sedin example is not the same. 4 mill is A LOT easier to maintain than what did you say 18 mill lol! Come on.

Obviously it's not the easiest situation, but don't act like what I'm saying isn't reasonable either, because I offered you a 3rd liner signed for 2 mil, not an unreasonable contract. And don't pull that "I'm the commish" and "don't forget who makes the rules" crap either, because you also play in the league, so you have some conflict of interest if you're going to start playing that card. With all of that being said, ill have one more look once I get home today, and ill let you know between the 5 and 10 advancement what I want to do. Obviously at this point it's either Souray or the 7th, so ill let you know.

I don't see how anything I have said or done has led to a conflict of interest. May I point out a conflict which cannot be avoided. If I was in a conflict of interest, wouldn't I have just kept him and said too bad, you didn't sign him, and I told everyone I was going to be advancing quickly. Wouldn't that be a conflict of interest. Wouldn't that be tyrannical of me? If anything, I am appeasing you all by even allowing you to take 'dibs' on your players because all of you were either too slow, or not paying attention, with the exception of one person who actually followed instruction and was prepared. Thus, I will play that card because I can and know I have no conflict of interest. I could care less about Faulk, I thought he was an FA and I needed depth. If you want him back, then fine I'll be reasonable allow it, but I am not taking anything back for him which I do not want. I'll take the 7th because that is what people were doing as status quo. Simple as that.

Also, I will tell you all now there is no 5 and 10 advancement, I am not sure where this came from, again, people making things up without any authorization. Was this from the Hawks GM? He would be the only one that could make such a choice, however, I doubt he did because I know he would have told me.

There will be an advancement happening around 9:30 EST. Once that advancement happens, I will be again doing quick advancements because the important signings ought to be done. There is no point sitting around and wasting time, because if you want to sign or trade you can do that during the start of the season. So I will probably, depending on how many advancements there are, will move into the end of the off-season by late tonight. I will advance at 9:30 wait probably 30 min - 1 hour then advance again.

So if you want any trades or signings before the season is here, you best do it soon.

Thanks.

if the season starts tonight and you have a game against LA please DO NOT play my AI, I don't remember if it's still set to play, but I'd like to turn it off and won't be home till late tonight to do so.

And Burkie, maybe it's time to fix up your roster in your sig :P haha

You're right, I have been busy. Anyways, now that the off-season is behind us, it'll slow down. It's difficult to work around 21 players--always someone who is going to cry. Comes with the job. I either set schedules, and people cry because it's too long, or I don't and they cry because it's too fast. Nevertheless, everyone knows how the remainder of the off-season will be. Also, I am not sure if we will go right into the season tonight. Tough to say. Depends on how many advancements there are and how long it takes. People complain about the quick advancements but they don't realize it took me almost 2 hours to do all of that. So, although they love to say it's all my scheduling and what works for me, of course it is! It's my time that is spent advancing and the slow servers that takes to do it. I cannot spend a lot of time advancing through them all. So it was either I do them all in 2 hours, or take at least two days to do that: which is too long and slows everything down. But again, I now know what it is like to be a politician, somebody in power, you cannot please everyone, someone always thinks it can be done better; until they are in this position. There is a fundamental reason why this league still goes strong and many others have crumbled.

Agreed, lets just move on and get to the next season. Moving forward, the only player I'm worried about is Bowman, as he was an RFA. I'm expecting him to sign at this advance, but if he doesn't this period, I just want to let everyone know I think he should be off limits.

I havn't had any players dissapear yet but it may happen this simulation so in order to try and prevent this I am looking to move some higher cap players who can be had for reall cheap.

Many of the players are on last year of contract and are 81+ let me know if youhave cap room or are interested. Also still have a surplus of centres so still taking offers on Backlund and Eller
