avelanch
My bad. Thought there was rules regarding younger players on ELCs.
Ossi Vaananen
Hurricanes have a second Sutter? Do these guys multiply or something.
Down by the River
Anyone remember all the CDCers who were up in arms that the Canucks took CoHo over Boychuk? While Coho isn't with the team any more, Boychuk certainly wasn't going to allow the Canucks to land Kassian either.

canuckbeliever
No one was in arms about not getting Boychuk. During the 08 draft he was and still is severely undersized and has no physical game. I asked Jeff Angus from Dobber Hockey (who is a prospect guru) on twitter about Boychuk and this was his reply. Would he be a good player to take a flyer on? Yeah simply because you lose nothing by claiming a guy on waivers

avelanch
There were a couple of huge Boychuk fan boys on here at the time of the draft, but overall I think the majority of CDC was happy with the Hodgson pick at the time.
Canucksh
I like how Marc Andre Gragnani was placed on waivers...since he was signed after MG released him. Glad we didn't keep him if the Hurricanes didn't even want him either.
Aladeen
he didn't, as that's the point of waivers, to keep the players in the NHL from being sent down to the AHL. every player placed on waivers can be picked up, there is no exception. Psycho_Path
Did want to add that yes, there was 1 person in particular who really wanted us to get Boychuk, even over Hodgson, Wilson and Boedker.
TOMapleLaughs
So we miss out on Doan and we're supposed to be excited about a waiver shtsunami? Time for another drink. "...i AM the liquor." - Mr. Lahey

forklift_ole
Aliu or McIver would be alright for toughness depth, and TJ Hensick has a lot of potential upside. But really, not a lot there to get excited over.

avelanch
Don't know why people feel the need to make a comment like this. The skill, determination and extreme physical ability to play hockey at this level or even the AHL is impressive. Out of the thousands of young men that want to play professional hockey each year, very few make it. Give your head a shake, boy.
canucklehead44
I wouldn't mind Aliu. He scored 2 goals and an assist in a two game callup last year. 6'4", 225Lb agitator who can drop the gloves. He has a little offensive upside too.
