RUPERTKBD Posted September 18, 2012 Share Posted September 18, 2012 Most of the long-time rivalries (Mtl-Bos, Edm-Cal, Tor-Det, NYR-NYI) are one-sided affairs now, so the rivalries just don't spark the interest they used to. La Mauviette75 Posted September 19, 2012 Share Posted September 19, 2012 definitely boston-montreal. i'm surprised more people haven't said Rangers-Islanders. that is by far one of the biggest rivalries. it always results in many fights (many fights in the stands too). people in new york don't really care that much about the devils, but rangers fans HATE the islanders and islanders fans hate the rangers even more. in fact, at every rangers game, no matter who's playing, the crowd will chant "potvin sucks!". they've been doing it since 1979. i know some of you are going to say that it's not as compelling a skill match-up as some of the other rivalries, but the islanders always seem to stay in the game and it's actually some decent hockey, and the crowd is wild.
