[Proposal] Canucks-Sharks-Panthers

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

This trade i think this is a good deal for all the teams involved.

Canucks:

- Joe Pavelski

- Scott Clemmensen

Sharks:

- Kris Versteeg

- Mason Raymond

- VAN 2013 2nd Round Pick

Panthers:

- Roberto Luongo

- Nick Petrecki

- SJS 2013 4th Round Pick

--------------------------------------

VAN gets:

- Joe Pavelski

- Scott Clemmensen

VAN gives:

- Roberto Luongo

- Mason Raymond

- VAN 2013 2nd Round Pick

SJS gets:

- Kris Versteeg

- Mason Raymond

- VAN 2013 2nd Round Pick

SJS gives:

- Joe Pavelski

- Nick Petrecki

- SJS 4th Round Pick

FLA gives:

- Kris Versteeg

- Scott Clemmensen

FLA gets:

- Roberto Luongo

- Nick Petrecki

- SJS 4th Round Pick

--------------------------------

Why Vancouver does it: The Canucks get Pavelski, a proven playoff performer and 2nd line right handed playmaker. He can play center while Kesler is out, then can shift to right wing when Kes returns (he played both in San Jose). The Canucks also get a solid veteran backup for Schneider in Clemmensen.

Why San Jose does it: While losing little Joe is tough, I think it is clear the current Sharks roster is not good enough to contend. So, they get two young, skilled top 9 forwards in Raymond and Versteeg, plus a 2nd rounder in return.

Why Florida does it: The Cats get Luongo, a elite NHL goalie. Yes, giving up Versteeg is a big blow, but the Panthers are still somewhat a rebuilding team, so good defensive prospect Nick Petrecki could be good in a few years, and the 4th rounder could be valuable too.

-------------------------------------------

Sign Jason Arnott 1 yr $1.25 M

D. Sedin - H. Sedin - A. Burrows

D. Booth - R. Kesler - J. Pavelski

C. Higgins - J. Arnott - J. Hansen

M. Malhotra - M. Lapierre - Z. Kassian

D. Hamhuis - K. Bieksa

A. Edler - J. Garrison

K. Ballard - C. Tanev

C. Schneider

S. Clemmensen

That lineup looks really sick!

Flame away!

Sharks say no. They wouldn't trade Pavelski or Couture for Nash so I doubt they would trade Little Joe for Luongo. I'm going to say the Sharks trade Thornton and Marleau for a top six winger each and have Pavelski and Couture as their 1st and 2nd line centers

Clowe - Pavelski - Havlat

Winger from Thornton trade - Couture - Winger from Marleau trade

Florida wouldn't want Petrecki back, IMO. Lu fills a need in net but ripping out Versteeg creates another gaping hole, only this time it's up front. Sure, Huberdeau may be able to cover some of the offense taken out, but he shouldn't be expected to contribute so much so fast. They should get another forward who can score in return.
