The Walking Dead Thread

They already went that way with "Terminus", I gotta hope that they lean another way this time.

The fact the guy knew Rick and knew he was the leader says something shady is going on though.

You have to admit that the very initial impressions of Aaron and Gareth are very similar. When Rick first encountered Gareth in the warehouse he acted like Aaron did in the preview of 5.11.

All I can say about last night's episode

Aaron will be the coolest gay character on TV ever, I hope.

and The Walking Dead is about to hit the best arc in the comics so far.

I'm f***ing giddy.

Though, the closer we get, it also means the closer we get to one of the harshest deaths in the series. I'm torn.

I kind of think just maybe negan will kill someone else then who he did in the comic. My bets are actually on maggie. The whole picture burning thing last season left a bad taste in my mouth..

Or they could upset the entire fandom and kill Daryl :(

Norman reedus made me love daryl even more man that was superb acting, anyone else tear up a bit with that scene with him and carol? It was so sweet, also michonne is so awesome. I hope sasha dies soon.

That definitely was the low point of the episode for me.

Rick says that in the comics and thus everyone's been waiting for him to say it in the show!

I actually found this particular speech to be way more powerful then any of his other speeches particular because they added that line.

Really a lot of the hate for this season is silly they are following the comic more closely and that is a good thing.

i think he'll kill a more minor character, like noah, or sasha, or the hispanic chick or lesbian chick (forget their names). I feel like he's going to intentionally make the comic book readers freak out and then just screw with them for a while with them expecting glen to die but then it ends up being someone minor instead. then again, there's this:

I know it's from the comics, but the timing on it is late and it didn't have the impact I was hoping for. It just seemed off with the tone of how it was delivered. It's the same thing with how they replaced Dale with Bob with the storyline with the cannibals, it just didn't have the same impact.

I know they are getting back to the comics again now, but I don't know about this season as a whole following the comics that closely, mainly because they have so many episodes and have to fill in large gaps with something.

I feel like if they had shorter seasons, say 10 episodes only, it would be a much better show. There would be less issues with pacing and less need for filler. For me they've shown a lot of the time that they just can't come up with good storylines when they stray from the comics.

Taking a minor character like Beth who was in the background for several seasons and creating a storyline where she was the focus is my main gripe with this season. There were so many other choices of more prominent characters to choose from that would have made more sense.

At the end of the day when they stray away from Rick as the focus it seems like they've lost the plot to me and it's just random things happening.

I think that music was piped in for the viewing audience only and not coming from behind the wall.

I'm pretty sure it was intended to have in he show, harkening back to the convo between Rick and Michone about the songs outside of other camps. The sound of children convinced Rick to go in.

"Believe me when I tell you, people are the world's most valuable resource."

Yeah....I think he means children and the group has one in Judith.

it's the children he heard, not the music. the music is the soundtrack for the audience, to convey emotion without dialogue. the sounds of kids playing is the only thing rick heard, that that's why he decided it was ok. because it wasn't silent like it was at terminus and the governors town.
