I really need some high quality eaphones but i have no idea what to get since i'm a noob...

I'm looking to spend around like $50 ish or something like that. They'll just be for casual iPod/Music stuff, and then maybe using them for gaming late at night when everyone's asleep.

Koss Porta Pros with a lifetime warranty. Hard to improve on a timeless classic - Bose has been producing these since 1984 - when you get it right why change?

Staples has them in store and online (free shipping):

And there is a model that works with Iphones and other smartphones.

And you can buy replaceable ear foam cushions:

I got a $15 pair of SkullCandy earbuds recently, such a difference from no name crap that always broke. I like how you could feel the vibrations of the bass, but that it didn't overwhelm the treble. I might invest in a more expensive pair in the future, but for now these are perfect for a cheapo like me lol. I also like earbuds because they fit in my pocket, I would get headphones, but then I'd need a bag to carry them around. Maybe in the future I'll get a pair for home :)

Trust me, Skullcandy is crap. Sure, it gives out good bass and all that stuff, but I can't even count how many times they've broke on me and just on the simplest things too. I've probably spent a good $200 at least on buying earbuds alone because that's how many times they've broken. I know now to never rely on them ever again.

If you're cheap, buy the Rocketfish earbuds at Best Buy. They go for $9.99 I believe and they pretty much give the similar feeling to Skullcandy earbuds, but last longer, and are better. I've had mine since October and it's gone through so many things, including leaving it in my jeans by accident and getting run over by a car, yet it still works perfectly fine.

Alright, I'll keep that in mind for next time. I think my crappy earbuds broke because of the severe cold in Winnipeg haha.

And umm, I think they say "don't do this at home" for a reason :P

lol it wasn't my fault.. I was chasing after a bus and my earbuds dropped. The light just turned green as well and I dropped it and I had to wait until it was red to pick it up

Thoughts? :(

I think these headphones are just a cheaper, similar version of Beats. All the specs are decent (impedance could be a bit lower), and for 100 bucks (if that's what you're paying for them, just saw that price in an American store) I don't think it would be a bad purchase. The Hz range isn't great, but by no means is it terrible. 16 Hertz would be the highest I would ever go for the minimum range (my headphones range 3-28000)

The thing I don't like about them is the fact that they're on ear rather than over-ear so you're a lot more likely to have music leak, and an uncomfortable fit at times. You're basically going to need to be the judge of them yourself and see if they appeal to you.

Well I never really did get it when I went to Europe but I was hoping to at least try them on before I make my purchase.. I still want to try it and see if the bass is to my liking

If anyone is looking for a quality pair of headphones get the Audio Technica ATH-M50s. They are the best headphones I have ever listened to, and only about 125$ on amazon. I tell you the crisp clear sound and thumping bass is extraordinary and have been reviewed to be better than beats pro (over 500$ headphones) The only bummer is that you probably have to get them shipped to the states. Long and Mcquade has the ATH-M30s last time i checked and they're just not the same. I assure you you won't be dissapointed!

Anyone know how the M40's hold up? Not much more than the M-30's but a lot cheaper than the M-50. Listen to a lot of underground/classic rap with some hard rock and metal thrown in.
