Tangelos
Need for speed 8/10- thought it would just be a fast and furious rip off which in a way it kind of is, but I enjoyed it a lot more. Probably cause the acting is much better. Also that British chick who was also in fright night is absolutely stunning. Lego Movie 7/10- was skeptical before watching it but I'll admit I though it was cute and it had its moments. But you definitely have to be on speed to know what the hell is going on half the time. It kind of feels like it was made for kids with extremely short attention spans (which is pretty much all kids these days)
Kragar
Saw Grand Budapest Hotel recently. it was OK. To caveat, I'm not a huge Anderson fan, but Tenenbaum's was good. I don't feel worse for having seen it, but I have no need to watch it again. Definitely some funny parts. 6/10, I guess.

CanuckofSteel
The Lego Movie 3D- 8.5/10 Exceeded my expectations! This was actually really awesome (Everything is Awesome!!), the ending was decent but I got bored a little and the 3D was decent. The movie was very funny though, I was actually surprised that I laughed quite a few times. Probably the best animated movie I've seen this year and last year. BanTSN
NFS 6/10 - Tries desperately to be FF in many ways, but comes up a bit short. Not that I miss the acting prowess of Ludacris. But I don't mind Jesse Pinkman in the big screen. Keaton plays his role in his sleep, could've worn Beetlejuice makeup and played same guy, lol. The babe is hot, but both smart and stupid at the same time. Not that it mattered, but her character lacked direction. The badguy is douchey, but hardly menacing. The jump scene is ridiculous. Missed out Dukes of Hazzard Yee-Haw! there. It was alright. I like how innocents crashing and getting hurt are brushed off like nothing. Sequels sequels sequels. Blue Ruin 8/10 - Great movie. Reminded me of No Country for Old Men, but far shorter, more to the point, and with way less blabbering by a cast of overacting characters. Not saying it's a better movie, just simpler. Like rednecks with guns simpler. Get 'r dunn.

sakage.shinga
Edge of Tomorrow - 7.5/10. Predictable plot and ending, but overall an enjoyable experience. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - 8.5/10. Well executed, good pacing and emotions. Generally good/great acting. I would recommend seeing this one for sure. CanuckofSteel
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes- 9.5/10 One of the best movies of this year, really loved it. The Apes looked extremely realistic and the effects were wicked. The story was solid and the acting was solid, especially the guy who plays Ceaser. Really a fantastic movie, just all around solid. Tangelos
The Room (2003)- arguably the worst movie ever made, but it's so bad it's good. 0/10 for what it is but 10/10 for being so bad it's good

The Bookie
Blue Ruin - 9/10 fantastic, fantastic little movie. Just what I was in the mood for. Agree with the comparison to No Country up above. An ordinary dude with his own life problems who suddenly finds himself in a series of intense, claustrophobic kill-or-be-killed situations. Stunning cinematography all the way. Monty
Notorious (1946) - 10/10 Hitchcock film starring Ingrid Bergman and Carey Grant. Watched it in Portland with the wife at an outdoor movie event called Top Down, held at the top of the parking garage for the Hotel Deluxe. Terrific film. Hitchcock does things that are truly fantastic with this film. If you haven't seen a Hitchcock film before, there are others you can start with, but this is great nevertheless. Must watch. I love me some Hitchcock, but for whatever reason Notorious didn't do it for me. Other than the Bergman-Grant chemistry it just didn't have a lot going on . Have you seen Shadow of a Doubt? That's my personal favourite.
mouz
Expendables 3 - 4.5/10 Absolute brainless and unrealistic action. that's what happens when a movie goes from R rated to PG 13. Shame. I also thought it was awful. Worst one of the series. Hope #4 goes back to R
