euphoria/
Shutter Island - 8.5/10 Excellent acting by DiCaprio, definitely one of the better films in recent years. Scorsese & Co. really did well adapting from the novel. Certainly a hell of a lot better than The Wolf of Wall Street. BanTSN
The Signal 7/10 Fishburne's been in some weird ones and this is one of those. Dig the Clockwork Orange-esque soundtrack at the end. Movie has some holes, but overall is fairly watchable and with neato effects. Edited July 27, 2014 by BanTSN
The Bookie
Black Swan - 8.5/10 Been meaning to watch this for a long time... I was impressed by Pi (disclaimer - I was 19 when I watched that, it was 6am and I'd come home from a rave - no idea if it would hold up for me today) since then Aranofosky has been a case of steadily diminishing returns... but, he really hit one out of the park here. I do have minor complaints about this movie - the music was somewhat bombastic and melodramatic, and the foley artist in particular seemed like they might have been drinking - but all that aside I wish more postmodern insanity like this came out of hollywood. Mimerez
22 Jump Street - 10/10 I absolutely loved this movie to bits. Lots of good laughs, and an interesting plot.
Kryten
Has anyone here seen Zero Theorem yet? I like Christopher Waltz and Terry Gilliam but it seems to have gotten a luke warm reception by critics. Edited July 27, 2014 by Kryten
BanTSN
Definitely will. Too strange-looking to pass up. Love Gilliam's work.
grandmaster
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes- 9.5/10 One of the best movies of this year, really loved it. The Apes looked extremely realistic and the effects were wicked. The story was solid and the acting was solid, especially the guy who plays Ceaser. Really a fantastic movie, just all around solid. Agreed. Best movie of the year for me and my family! 9.5/10 Edited July 27, 2014 by grandmaster
g_bassi13
Has anyone here seen Zero Theorem yet? I like Christopher Waltz and Terry Gilliam but it seems to have gotten a luke warm reception by critics. It's weird how much I've disliked almost everything he has directed. I don't quite get why, but it's almost the case every single time that I feel like shutting off a movie of his before it ends.
RUPERTKBD
Finally got around to seeing Dallas Buyers Club last night. 8.5/10. Terrific performance by MM. Great job of "skinnying up" for the role. Garner left me underwhelmed, but all in all an excellent movie.

moz
Fever Pitch (UK version) 3/5. I read part of the book and decided to watch the film. I think it needed more football as it was slow in places. Overall it was an ok watch but I wouldn't bother watching it again. (Especially with that final game)
D-Money
Akeelah and The Bee - 8/10 Safe to watch with my daughter around. Such a great little film, even the 3rd time seeing it.
Down by the River
Expendables 3 - 4/10.. was really boring.... want to see purge next... Watching the Purge made me feel like the director/writers were flagrantly trying to insult my intelligence
Monty
I love me some Hitchcock, but for whatever reason Notorious didn't do it for me. Other than the Bergman-Grant chemistry it just didn't have a lot going on . Have you seen Shadow of a Doubt? That's my personal favourite. Haven't seen Shadow of a Doubt, no. I'll check it out later this week.
The Bookie
Under The Skin - 8.5/10 So very, very hypnotic and unsettling. There's a scene early on that has a legitimate chance of giving my first movie-fueled nightmare in awhile. All that being said I'm a sucker for anything this unique and visionary. Highly recommended for anyone into the weird dark stuff.
SabreFan1
Just got around to seeing Transformers 4: Age of Extinction today. - 7.5/10 I really liked the first three, but this one was a bit of a disappointment. It's made almost a Billion dollars and this movie was the first part of a new trilogy so there will of course be a 5th installment.
SabreFan1
Lucy - 2/10 80 minutes of my life that I'll never get back. Terrible movie with a terrible plot coupled with mediocre acting. The writers and directors need to take a few science classes. Half of what was said was very inaccurate and/or outdated. I feel bad for Morgan Freeman. This film was definitely a money grab on his part. Can't really blame him though. I'd do a short crappy film for millions if I was offered it as well. Lychees
Hercules - 6/10 I knew nothing going other than The Rock was in it, I preferred the Disney version, but you can definitely count on Hercules II Predictable sub-par plot, mediocre acting, not enough action, TERRIBLE CGI Fire At least their comedic moments had me laughing sometimes. Sometimes. And to top it all off, Timeplay wasn't working because the WiFi wasn't working. Freakin Cineplex!
Raoul Duke
22 Jump Street - 10/10 I absolutely loved this movie to bits. Lots of good laughs, and an interesting plot. By interesting you mean the exact same as the first movie, right?
