D-Money
I can't stand Robin Williams. Not one bit. If I were to watch one of his films now to co-opt whatever sadness I had over his passing (which I don't), I would choose Insomnia. The film is great and he doesn't act like Robin Williams. I watched The Adventures of Baron Munchausen about 2 months ago, Williams had a small role in that. Munchausen isn't all that good either though, so I'd pass on that. Insomnia is great. Very underrated. Although I'm not a big fan of Williams, I also enjoyed Awakenings. He was downright chilling in One Hour Photo, but the movie itself didn't hold up. D-Money
Will not watch Frenzy, Topaz, Family Plot, or Torn Curtain. ...Why? Do they happen to feature a young Sean Penn or something?
Monty
...Why? Do they happen to feature a young Sean Penn or something? Har Har Har. No, those are 4 of his films that I haven't heard good things about from anyone I've talked to. If I were doing a true Hitchcock marathon, yes then I should watch his later films as well. However, I'm not watching his films from the late 20s to late 30s either. Reason why I'm skipping them is that I'm focusing on his hay day from 1941-1964. I forgot Robin Williams was in that. That is my next movie to watch. I did just watch Premium Rush with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Not bad, not great. It was kinda funny but totally predictable. It's on Netflix.
CanuckofSteel
Guardians of the Galaxy: IMAX 3D- 9/10 Totally worth watching in IMAX 3D, the movie looks fantastic and the 3D is very good. The movie had comedy, action, sadness, drama, and a talking Racoon paired with a giant tree that says "I am Groot." Really enjoyed the movie had such a fun time. Hercules 3D- 6.5/10 The 3D was good, but the movie as whole kind of fell flat. The beginning was awesome but the middle part was pretty lackluster, the end was good. The Rock was a beast in the movie though and there were some random moments of comedy that I didn't expect but worked. Watched it on a Tuesday so it wasn't so bad, overall it was an average movie but had some sweet action scenes.
JeremyCuddles
Guardians of the Galaxy - 8/10 Figured it'd be more of a comedy and my expectations were low going in. Did exactly what I thought it would. Was a funny movie with the occasional action scene. Definitely one of the better movies I've seen this year. Dragonfruits
TMNT 9/10 i loved it better than the original first and second films (third film is an abomination and it doesn't exist) certain things like the origins were botched which i am ok with since it's a different way of telling the same story honestly it would of been lame to use the exact same origin as the cartoon or the first film Knoxville as Leo bugged me a lot not sure why certain times it was ok other times it sounded like him announcing the next stunt for Jackass the others were voiced perfectly personalities were damn near perfect in my eyes Shredder was decent not what i expected but was pretty decent on screen and the fights were amazing and like most review sites mention the snow scene was spectacular very comparable to the train scene from the Wolverine Megan Fox as April surprised me she played the role very well same with Will Arnett i assume sequels will follow and i hope some classic villains and stuff gets used like technodrome dimension x krang beebop and rocksteady the rat king leatherhead metalhead baxter stockman( would of been perfect to have him as a scientist in the first movie and then change him in the 2nd oh well) casey jones(surprised he wasn't in at least as a cameo) a more classic look to the footclan
GLASSJAW
Boyhood - 10/10 An absolute masterpiece. Seriously, it's a testament to how a pretty basic, narrative film could be considered art. It's more than just a movie about A life, or a family of lives, it's pretty much 'North American Suburban Experience' as a whole. You'll totally see bits and pieces of yourself throughout, and it'll probably break your heart a little bit. The jarring bits of dialogue, the silly clothes, the trends, the music, everything, it all just fits a period. In a way, it's stuff we've probably all heard or said before, but when it's contained in a movie like this, it's just sorta special. To/for me, there's really something really moving and difficult about that watching a movie about the passing of time. I really loved it Edited August 17, 2014 by GLASSJAW
The Bookie
you must've really liked it if you're using capitals 3 quick reviews from this week Take Shelter - 9 - as good as advertised, not much to add to the other reviews Bad Words - 5.5 - Jason Bateman spelling bee movie, perfectly adequate, instantly forgettable Mystic River - 8 - I think I watched this when it came out, but I'm not sure. Good, could be great, Kevin Bacon is kind of a black hole swallowing every scene he's in. I
Spoderman
So, I've pirat-, um, legitimately acquired the files to some films. Which do I watch next? Dazed and Confused (1993) American Beauty (1999) Waking Life (2001) Lost in Translation (2003) The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) Life Itself (2014) Got a couple of known classics too, but I'm not really in the mood for it, to be honest. But Grand Budapest can definitely wait. American Beauty, Dazed and Confused, Lost in Translation are all among my favourites--probably in that order. Grand Budapest is good, but not great like the others are IMO. haven't seen Life Itself or Waking Life, but I def should

Rick Grimes
Guardians Of The Galaxy was fackin' awesome. 9/10 Hilarious, honestly reminded me a little bit of a modernized, more actiony Star Wars, helluva show, F***in Funny!
DollarAndADream
The Hobbit 2: 7/10 - Kind of got bored throughout a lot of the movie. Was staring at my phone for some of it. Still decent though. Kick-Ass 2: 7.5/10 - Pretty good action flick. Funny parts. Rated it a little better than Hobbit 2 because I wasn't bored. Amazing Spiderman 2: 8/10 - Loved it. 22 Jump Street: 8/10 - Found it hilarious.

I've been moving all week and so I still haven't watched Take Shelter, Annie Hall, or Boyhood. I did watch The Raid: Redemption last night. I don't know how appropriate it is to call such a violent film 'beautiful', but when you consider the choreography that had to be planned out, it seemed like art to me. Took a little bit longer than I expected to get into the martial arts, which made me nervous that it was going to be an action movie based on police/military style fighting, but I sure was not disappointed. 8/

The Bookie
I just finished reading the book for Gone Girl this morning, and I'm cautiously excited for the David Fincher / Ben Affleck adaptation coming in October. The way the mystery was structured was the best I've seen in this genre in a long, long time. It's so perfectly set up, while also still progressing and mutating, it would probably be hard to screw up in a movie.
