The Witch  9/10

Took 5 months for my nerves to settle, time to re-examine this. Held up, and was even better now that I was looking to appreciate the set design, lighting etc.

yes, yes, yes

thought i would maybe like it less out of a theatre setting, but nope. may have even liked it more at home on a laptop. this movie is wonderful

IT - 6.5/10

As @GLASSJAW said, the acting is horrendous. However, that's part of the charm, at least to me. Some truly great scenes, like Pennywise coming out of the grave and the shower floor. Also the sink with the blood coming up was at pretty sweet.

But that ending

that spider crawled right out of a 1953 Sinbad movie

Dr Strange-5/10

It was really pretty forgettable. The entire movie felt like the first act until suddenly the credits were playing. The visuals were pretty impressive, and I enjoyed watching it, but aside from that it was a very average movie going experience. It really felt like a watered down version of the first Iron Man.

I hadn't gone to the movies in a long time. We went to this on Friday night and i was reminded on why i don't really enjoy the theatre experience anymore.

The movie was pretty. Great visuals, almost a bit too psychedelic to follow at times, but really interesting. Effects were top notch, but thats expected from Marvel now.

Cumberbatch did a good job, but overall the story was weak. Way too many liberties in building the character. Dr. Strange should have been a smaller role in a bigger movie. IE Introduce the character in the next Thor movie.

Overall i'll agree with your score of 5/10.

Dr Strange  - 6/10

Was ok-ish. Significantly better in my books than the last Captain America movie, which i was surprised to find I hated. It's probably the only super hero movie I've seen that doesn't assume knowledge on the viewer, or jump sporadically from plot point to plot point without following or establishing motivations.

I really didn't want to see it, after having seen Captain America, and with this movie starring a guy who I don't even like watching in Benedict Cumberbatch. But after being dragged to watch it, I expected worse. It could have been worse.

I feel like I've seen this exact movie about 30 or so times over the last decade, but unlike the messes that have come out recently, this at least follows a train of logical storytelling, and basic 3-act structure that other crap can't even manage anymore.

Basically I'm giving it points for being grounded and not tripping over its own feet.

The visuals when they were bending the cities and such around were quite cool, but the psychedelic imagery they were using for the dark dimension and all that jazz looked like something partway between what a teenager on drugs would think up, and some 2 bit DeviantArt page would mock up when they were bored. It looked awful.

didn't laugh once, one of the worst movies i've ever seen

The tagline of all Seth Rogan films since 2008.

Finished Narcos. Loved it. My kind of story, characters, etc.

One silly criticism: didn't care for the Escobar actor constantly shifting his pants in every scene. Felt he was overdoing it, kind of a distraction.

Really enjoyed Pedro Pascal. Would love to see him in more.

He should be glad they cut so many of his scenes from the movie. He wasn't good at all, and sounded like he was really annoying to work with.

But he did some CRAZY stuff, like:

1. Stayed in character throughout filming

2. Sent Margot Robbie a live rat from a pet store.

3. Sent the cast a dead pig from a butcher, anal beads, and condoms.

He sent Viola Davis gun shells.

Meanwhile Heath Ledger was chilling, skateboarding around the set. I get the impression Leto thought that people were going to write about how brilliant of a method actor he was. Instead he was just an asshole that didn't do his job.

Suicide Squad 2.5/10

Clean-up in Aisle Snyder

2.4 of those points went to the first 30 min of the movie, where it actually seemed like it could be a whacked out joyride

.1 for when the croc dove into the subway, I liked that

although I didn't really see all the fuss about Jared Leto's thing - I'll take hammy over acting in something like this any day over Will Smith and his painful turn  - it was like they were holding Jaden at gunpoint just off camera forcing him to 'act'
