But yeah, great, great movie.
Monty
Hunt for the Wilderpeople is easily the best film I watched last year, followed closely by Eye in the Sky. "No, I'm The Terminator, I said it first. You're more like Sarah Connor. But in the first film, before she could do chin ups." Died laughing. nuckin_futz
Heist 6/10 There's enough non stop action to make you forget you're watching a plot you've seen 10 times before. Citizen Kane 8.5/10 Finally got around to giving this one a watch. To be honest it could not really have lived up to it's hype. When you're often billed as the greatest movie of all time, there's really nowhere to go but down. To be fair, I think it's rather difficult to truly appreciate the greatness of a film made in 1941. Especially given what we're use to seeing nowadays. It's like comparing Gordie Howe to Wayne Gretzky. Different time, different eras, different equipment etc. That said I really liked it. The main character Charles Foster Kane is brilliantly portrayed by Orson Welles. Many have noted the similarities between Kane and Donald Trump. Kane who is a newspaper mogul is running for Governor of New York. When he loses there's a scene where his newspaper is choosing one of 2 previously printed headlines. The first reads "Kane Elected" the 2nd reads "Fraud at Polls". Had a hearty LOL at that one. Apologies if that's counts as a spoiler, but it's 76 years old so you've had all your life to see it. At least I didn't tell you what "Rosebud" meant. Edited January 13, 2017 by nuckin_futz
250Integra
Sing - 7/10 The movie had it's funny moments and the songs were decent, but it was a pretty boring movie overall. Moana - 9.3/10 I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and it's definitely one of the top Disney movies of the last decade. I must say, the character 'Maui' (voiced by Dwayne Johnson) nailed it. I love how they also included some signature "Rock" things, such as eye-brow raising and more. And of course, the songs were catchy.
GLASSJAW
lo and behold: really good/10 no idea how to rate this, but i thought it was extremely engaging and unsettling. gave me weird feels throughout. the solar flare segment in particular was really disturbing. of course it is a movie of extremes, so who knows what will or won't happen (they say as much in the movie), but still... GLASSJAW
deepwater horizon: 5.5/10 it was alright. rednecks in peril. some moments of tension, but after the scenes of fire and explosions happen over and over again it's sorta way too same-y. instead of showing more and more explosions, why not tack 10 minutes onto the movie that show the catastrophic ecological fallout? why not make decisive point about what we just saw? oh well, destined to be one of those movies that gets replayed on TBS 150 times a year. I think the same thing when I see a trailer for "The Other Woman", then I see a review like this: On 2014-08-31 at 3:24 AM, D-Money said: The Other Woman - 10/10 People need to go see this film. The story is incredible, and the writing and acting make it a must own for any film buff. Not sure where Cameron Diaz and Kate Upton went for film school, but their teachers should take a bow. Absolutely phenomenal! Note: Review may have been edited.

Down by the River
Couple of zombie-type films: Train to Busan: 8/10 The Girl with All the Gifts: 9/10 ... and normally I don't really like zombie movies. Speaking of gifts... Gemma Arterton... yowza. Edited January 15, 2017 by Down by the River

Tackled a pretty big concept and did it in an interesting way... well at least the original short story did so. The leak is one of those 'for award show consideration' rips, and so you get that weird black pixelation every 20 or so minutes.
GLASSJAW
Arrival leak is much darker than the movie was in theater, I'd almost wait for a cleaner leak Moonlight and La La Land aren't as crisp or as nice as their theatrical versions, obviously, but are more than clean enough for home viewing imo

Dral
Fantastic Beasts and Blah blah I rate it out of Fantastic/10 so far (haven't finished) Just had to pause the movie and share the best line of any movie I've heard in a long time... (Life threatening situation) "Don't panic" "What do you suggest I do instead?" That... is truly fantastic....
Tre Mac
The Boss - 7/10 - Comedy Saw this on Moviecentral the other day. Good movie to watch on a date, had a couple off moments otherwise I'd rate it higher. Features Melissa McCarthy who I find hilarious, Kristen Bell who I find beautiful, and Peter Dinklage aka Tyrion who was hilarious in this film. Seems like every movie I watch now has a GoT actor in it.

Just like his films, her's are awful.
