I see what you did there 23 hours ago, Monty said: @bishopshodan Be prepared for Split, though. It’s a lot like Gangs of New York in that, if not for the performance of James McAvoy, it would be a pretty bad movie, actually. McAvoy makes it good with such a great performance. No problem, I really like Gangs of New York, maybe it's just the feel or might be cause I love fighty movies and that I'm Brit immigrant that is 1/4 Irish. i throw that movie on once every few years and usually fall asleep. i enjoy ...doing that thanks fellas, Spilt is on the menu for this evening. D-Money
Loving - 7.5/10 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4669986/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2 As someone who is in an interracial marriage, and has interracial children, I found this to be a very interesting story. However, it is a slow-paced movie, that is somewhat anti-climactic (since most probably know essentially what happens). But overall, thumbs up.

My favourite thing about the movie was how neither of the real life couple wanted to seek out attention or have the typical “Hollywood” moment in a movie where someone stands up and makes a moving speak. Regular people who just wanted to live quietly and be with each other without drawing attention to themselves. Let the lawyers lawyer while they keep living. Thought it was great.

bishopshodan
Watched Split and Get Out this weekend. Enjoyed both quite a bit. Kinda knew I would but not the type of movies that my wife likes so I took a while to see them. However, what I would like to talk about is the conspiracy documentary named Above Majestic. Oh boy, where to start. Well, they make the mistake every single flick or pod cast/ recording on this subject does. While people are being interviewed they lace the background with ominous keyboard tones and scary sounds. This combined with the different levels of vocal volume per speaker made it difficult to pay attention to. One guy would be quiet, the next very loud. I had to watch with my volume control remote in my hand. Whats it about? In a big giant crazy nut shell.....Q-ANON This show has it all ( kind of like those nightclubs Stefon promotes on SNL ). Let me give this a shot... Ok, we are all being controlled by ancient aliens to this day. All reading material that has ever been produced is fake and an instrument of control. There are different alien species, some good some bad, some just entities. The Illuminati, free masons, almost every uncover secret club is in on it. All but 1 of the US presidents are related to each other including Obama. The 1%'r elite are aware and many are linked/related to some of the advanced races due to elongated head ancestors. The 1% have all the money so that's why we are still using 50's tech such as fossil fuel. The Us government is missing trillions, this goes to secret programs, bases and these 1%ers. There are underground bases that have millions of reptilians in the Antarctic and there are space bases on the moon and Mars. Actually there are also other Earth-like planets on the edge of our solar system where they speak English. We got a lot more galactic interest from aliens when we set off the bomb. Some cults recruit for these higher evil controllers, this is where the baby's blood and pedo stuff comes in. They make members participate in sacrifices and kiddie fiddling so they are trapped in the cults and wont tell. Also baby's blood and the fear that the poor innocent has when being slaughtered is an energy that some of these entity aliens feed on.. There are 42 sealed indictments that the alliance( good guys in the US gov) have put forward. The first to be revealed was the Nxvium, women branding cult ( this one is a real thing). There are a lot of holly wood types included. Very soon the truth is to be released with full disclosure and it will be a big paradigm shift. We will learn what potential and knowledge we truly have as humans and will no longer be unaware slaves. It will be like some 60's new age love-in. There, some light viewing for you. I can't believe I didn't fall a sleep, it drags on and on and finally gets to the Qanon stuff to tie it all together. One thing to point out is that ALOT of people are buying into this type of stuff. You can go through the early days of the Trump thread to see some pretty intelligent folk posting crazy things followed by a ....tick...tock... Well, the Qanon people are still watching the clock and waiting for the top to be blown off. Quite a thing to watch, it actually puts all the wacky ideas in one steaming stew if you don't follow Ancient Alien theories or the many general conspiracy ideas out there. These shows are kinda neat for some of their smaller but still wild statements. Are all the presidents related except for one? Was Trumps uncle the CIA agent, that cleared out Tesla's room at the hotel with all his secret designs before anyone else got there? The truth is out there. Oh...369/10 ( has to be 3,6,9 . Tesla once said "If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6 and 9, then you would have a key to the universe" ) Edited January 25, 2019 by bishopshodan
Tortorella's Rant
Not a movie, but the tv show OZ. Starting chapter 3. I'd probably give it 10/10. No less than 9/10. It is fantastic. And if you have the Shaw Bluesky box with the subscription that gives Crave TV, you can watch it right now. It's not difficult to follow either like other TV shows where you need to read a review on the episode after. And It's very late 90s, and I have a nostalgia for the 90s for some reason. Seeing all of those old school CRT desk monitors makes me happy. I'm weird. nm, Didn't see the TV thread. Down by the River
Widows: 4/10 This movie was emotionally empty. From the writing to the acting (why do people keep giving Michelle Rodriguez things to do?), I don't think I felt any different between the start of the movie and end of the movie. Viola Davis is boring. This almost felt Suicide-Squad + Justice League bad in that maybe they had five different directors and four different script supervisors that all took a turn and what you're left with is the story of the blind guys feeling up an elephant and none of them fully capture what an elephant actually is. falcon45ca
Split. 8/10 McAvoy didn't get nominated because the Academy sucks. Some Like It Hot 8.5/10 "Have I got things to tell you!" "What happened?" "I'm engaged." "Congratulations! Who's the lucky girl?" "I am."

I have this ready to watch, soon. McQueen is a great Director. Did not know that Michelle Rodriguez was in it. Will temper my expectations simply because of that. Her films include the Fast and Furious franchise, and that’s it. 12 minutes ago, Shift-4 said: The last Jason Bourne movie rinseandrepeat/10 I keep meaning to watch what I’ve long expected to be a steaming pile of dog crap. As meticulous as Cameron is in the details for his films, how on Earth (or Pandora) did this make sense
