Nas19
If true, this seems like a really odd time to fire a GM. EDIT: Apparently it is true. This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Why fire him now? The season is just about to start. Congratulations Toronto. You always seem to come up with new ways to baffle the hockey world. Opmac
An older article: http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/NHL/Toronto/2012/06/05/19841851.html Many within the Maple Leafs hockey hierarchy have been asked about Burke's status over the past few months and they claim to know nothing of it. There was a story going around that Burke had already taken a leave of absence. He didn't. There was a story going around that he was about to be fired. It hasn't happened -- and isn't about to happen.

gizmo2337
The timing is so odd. This *has* to have something to do with Luongo deal. Why timing just before CBA is signed?
