InTheCrease
I don't think its a showcase, its the use him while you have him scenario and to keep them both in game shape/rested for the playoffs.
Aladeen
Wait...the Toronto media are responsible for AV's irrational decisions? And oooooooooo he won an award one year. And if you don't know AV' history with other young players like Shirokov, unnessesarily causing friction, publically doubting effort, refusing to give ice time even though they've earned it....Poor Shroeder, drafted to play under such a megalomaniac. deized_kanuck604
So.....we officially have a "goaltending controversy" now. Thanks AV, ....brilliant. If there's one thing AV is good at, its screwing around with the brains of talented young players. Press is asking him why Lu is in tonight....he refuses to give an answer. "My call" is the only response. Its almost as if he doesn't understand what happened last Spring, he forgets that even Lu has already said it wouldn't work here for him. He's causing undue stress to Schneider and the whole team with his irrational "hunches".
justvisiting
We need wins right now, and Lu gives us the best odds in a win tonight, and a fresh Shneids gives us best odds against Hawks.

cmpunk
lol funny reading everyone's lame excuses/reasons for Luongo starting. Very simply he played a solid game in LA and is playing again. Nothing else, you think he had an average game vs the Kings he starts today? No way. Just like CS had a solid game vs. the Ducks, he started the game after vs the Sharks. Until Luongo is actually gone and off this team, CS is still not officially the sole number 1.
5minutesinthebox
Think about it people. Who do we play on Friday? No matter even if Lu gets a shutout tonight, guess who will be starting against the Hawks?

Nino
Lu is being showcased for possible trades. Colorado has potential to make him look good. Leaving Cory to face the red-hot Blackhawks on Friday. Playing your back-up against weak teams so your starter is sharp and ready for to face the top team in the league is pretty standard practice. Even on the weekend, the media tried to make so much out of Luongo playing the defending SC champs. But in reality, the Sharks were demolishing teams, and the Kings struggling, so Canucks played their starter against the better team, and deferred to the back-up for the weaker one. That's what teams do when they have back-to-backs, isn't it?

5minutesinthebox
Cory played great against the Sharks, it was the D in front of him that totally pooped the bed. Garrison, Edler, Bieksa, all played horribly and two of them are directly responsible for goals.
jono2009
AV adding to the controversy and messing with Cory's confidence. When Lu was the starter, he was given numerous bad games to work through it. AV is handling Cory like he did Hodgson, Linden, Naslund. What an A$$
D-Money
Schneider is 4-0-0 in 4 starts against the AVs with a .65GAA and hasn't allowed a goal in his last 155 minutes against the AVs. Last game he had a 43 save 1-0 victory over them,. Makes sense to sit him when a vcitory is crucial at this point.

DownUndaCanuck
AV is just playing the goalie who gives his team a better chance to win. The entire team played pretty similarly against San Jose and LA, the biggest difference was Luongo held his team in it with some fantastic saves and Cory scored on himself (Marleau goal, he pushed it in) and crapped the bed. This isn't even a decision, Lu's playing unreal right now and Cory isn't. Play the better goalie.
