The cap hit from buy out has been known to dissapear in gmc after the first year. So dont think its a great penatly since he loses Karlsson but gains pietrangelo and Benn. I would agree with a trade back needing to happen since this also only makes Dallas a worse off team for any new gm that may take it over.

I appreciate all the feedback, and I have put some thought into the current situation. It is difficult, at times, when you are a decision maker--as you will never be able to please everyone. Thus, it is the job which best suits the League and gives justice to the situation. Clearly, JP has become a burden to the League. This is an undisputed fact. However, to give him some benefit, he has not had it easy from the peanut gallery either. He is constantly accused, and for lack of a better term 'picked on.' Granted, he does not help the situation when he then retaliates. I believe this will no longer be an issue. I have spoke with JP and he is on a short leash. This is a hockey league, it's meant for enjoyment, competition and jokes. I do not want petty arguing, nor cheating in the League; thus, I want to make sure it does not happen so a punishment needs to happen.

Perhaps an apology is not a punishment; however, it is certainly a step in the correct direction. My goal, is to make the League enjoyable, and have nobody be an outcast. I'm giving JP a second chance to redeem himself, if he fails, he'll be gone. I believe the Karlesson buy-out is a reasonable punishment. Karlesson is his best player, losing him will be difficult to overcome. In addition, he'll have a cap penalty which will not help considering his other large contracts. Furthermore, he may not be able to resign his goalie, which I have considered. I know everybody wants their pound of flesh, but I do not think over punishing him will solve anything either.

If Dallas was still in the League, and wanted to players back, perhaps I could justify the deal. But Dallas is now an AI, and I highly doubt anyone will be joining this League anytime soon. It's late in the League, most of the teams aren't very good currently: Phenox, New Jersey, Dallas, and Calgary soon. I don't think for the sake of making Dallas better is a justification for trade-backs. JP's punishment is more or less a consequence of his dishonesty, sh!t disturbing, and back dealing, taking the integrity out of GMing.

For now I will keep the punishment as is. I don't think completely poaching his team will be reasonable punishment, considering this was only his first violation. Perhaps this may show weakness on my behalf, but I need to stand my ground somewhere. If I give in to everyone's demand for his head, then am I any stronger? No. No, this will be my choice, with careful consideration of everyone's thoughts. I am sure JP understands the situation, and if he is found being involved in any further issues, he will be--without a head.

Advancement could be tonight, if the majority want...
