You guys make my morning so delightful.

When it comes to trading, a simple philosophy ought to be followed. Please do your own research, it is not the responsibility of anyone else to correct your mistakes. I would have ruled on JP's favor if the deal was officially sent. Simply because Minny should have known that the contract he was taking was grossly over-priced. JP can let them details be known; but he is not obligated to. Better for him if the other GM is not savvy enough to do his own research. Nevertheless, if Minny does not accept the deal online, then the deal is not binding. I only come into the picture if it is in my mail box saying "pending trade." Which means both parties accept. However, it is was idiotic to post the deal to the public, and unprofessional on behalf of Minny. I say your GMing reputation drops, you'll only have one blackberry in this deadline.

Florida has been trying to ship me Stewart for 48 hours now, and when I first saw him I thought he was a great addition. However, once I did my research I noticed he's making 7.5 mill, I was out! This is what I am talking about. If I accept that deal the first time and didn't notice, that's my fault, not Florida's.

Nevertheless, JP did the mature thing and declined the offer in full. He handled it professionally. I forget who said it but I remember a post saying something like: "Maybe JP should not try and screw over the other GM with his trade." I'm paraphrasing. That's unnecessary, and I'm glad JP didn't walk into that. If JP can pull the rug out of another GMs feet in a trade then good for him. GMing is always about getting the upper hand in a trade -- that's why we negotiate.

Now for trading with CPUs. I am allowing it, but you'll be over-paying for every player for the most part. Useless conditional draft picks and 3.5 star prospects are not getting you there. Sorry. In addition, I look at each trade in order they come in (bottom to top). So if you send a trade for the same player, and I accept both, then it's whoever was there first I believe (bottom to top).

If I decline an offer then so be it. Probably was not a good offer. Not sure why someone announced the Roy trade. I don't believe I looked at any Roy trades yet....

Actually the only GM I have seen thus far who actually knows the system of trading with CPU is San Jose. He has given very fair and even over priced trades for CPU players. I don't think I have declined a trade yet from him.

Please do not announce trades until they are accepted; unless it is a trade with another party who agrees and knows that they are accepting.

King out :emot-parrot:
