I'm Your Huckleberry
What if Gillis did in fact offer Luongo for Scrivens/two 2nd round picks, and planned on flipping the picks for Torres and Clowe?
Boudrias
What happens in playoffs will impact what the final roster next fall looks like. What we know is the Lu, Ballard and Booth are hopefully gone. Come June the market for these players will be there and Gillis should pick up some talent and pics in return. I am anxious to see what the final CAP numbers are for this year and the estimates for the next two years. Positive numbers make everyone more relaxed. BertuzziJr 2.0
I'm not discounting a big return from a team like Philly in the off season. Once Bryzgalov is bought out and they officially have a top 5-10 pick.

Canucks_Hockey_101
Laurence Gillman is the God of Capology! He is the best in the business, and he will find the best way to keep the team under the Cap and keep our core players intact. I would hope that Derek Roy just became a core player. thad
The God of capology huh? I guess with the Booth, Ballard salaries, it's like saying the God of love reigns over humanity and that wars are just part of the equation?
smurf47
Do you ever make sense?.. Booth and Ballard make him even better at his job as he has been able to squeeze both those large contracts in. Just because they are underperforming players doesn't mean gilman screwed that up. Gilman worked his magic to fit them under the cap.
PlayoffHockey
Luongo will get one more shot, will be up to him to show the hockey world that he's still elite. Not feeling the crying about not being traded and his 60 million dollar contract.
Canuck Surfer
Well, going into the season we were well reported as wanting help right away and for the future. If I'm not mistaken, this was re-stated by Gillman just a week or so before the deadline. Clowe and Torres are both rentals; I don't think that's the formula. I believe they were hoping for a rental (ie Bozak), a prospect and a pick. Not two rentals. Our team would have looked pretty good though? elvis15
I damn well hope so. If he gets locked up our center position is a beauty for a while. When Gaunce or Schroeder are knocking on the door do they play wing? I quite like Roy, and I think we definitely have three top line centers. We also have enough quality wingers to roll 3 excellent scoring lines. When healthy, we are extremely deep in ALL areas. 4 lines, 3 good defense pairs, two damn good goalies. Built for the playoffs? Canucks_Hockey_101
Schroeder or Roy could easily move to the wing on Kesler's line as a playmaker option, and Gaunce has also been playing wing after the Bulls added center depth at the OHL trade deadline. Of course, we could find one of our prospects added to a trade if we end up with too much depth there as players become NHL ready as well. I'd say we currently have more of one 1st line center, two 2nd line centers, and one 4th line center. We have an ok replacement for the top 6 and an ok replacement for the bottom 6 if needed, but I wouldn't say extremely deep in the event of injuries. We're definitely better off than we have a right to be in a number of areas though, goaltending not being the least of those.
WiDeN
Brilliant. Lets put a number one passing center on second line wing to feed a third line defensive Selke center. Brilliant.

Boudrias
At the Calgary game. The only Van player who stood out was Lu. The rest of the team pretty much mailed it in. Sloppy passing and almost no physical play. Roy made a couple of nice passes but nothing to excite.
