Why play him in the NHL where he may score 30 points, when if I play him in the AHL he can be point per game.

Well IMO he could fit in pretty well on your 2nd line instead of Brodziak.. But thats just me.

You guys need to understand that a better rating does not make your player better

I would advise you to read the STHS V2 Manual on the Simon T hockey website as this explains what the ratings mean

Ex: Crosby (99) Scoring, Valabik (50) Scoring, all this means is Crosby will shoot the puck a hell of a lot more than Valabik which will increase his chances of actually scoring a goal (this does not take other ratings in effect though) but I am just trying to give an example

Overall, great trade.

San Jose has successfully established themselves as a contender, while Calgary has acquired pieces that will help both now and in the future.

I don't comprehend it the same way you do VC.

* When a player has the puck, he needs to make a decision of what to do with it. There are 3 results possible: skate, pass or shot. It doesn’t matter if the player skills are at 50 or 99 for this formula. The player’s skills are compared between each other’s for this formula.

The decision is based on 5 skills:

  • Skating (Primary) and Puck Handling (Limited affect) are uses to decide if the players skate.
  • Passing (Primary) and Defense (Limited affect) are uses to decide if the players pass.
  • Scoring (Primary) is uses to decide if the player shot.

So, a players with 99 in the 5 skills has the same % of chance to shot to the net that a player who has 50 in the 5 skills.

Players Rating

Skating - The higher the stat, less chance to get successfully hit. Part of decision making formula*.

Puck Handling - The higher the stat, less chance to get successfully hit / less chance to lost control of puck / better chance in shot block or shot deflection. Part of decision making formula*.

Passing - The higher the stat, better chance to have a successful pass. Part of decision making formula*.

Scoring - The higher the stat, better chance to score by normal shot or deflection. Part of decision making formula*.

Defense - The higher the stat, better he'll play in defense / he'll block more shot / he'll retrieved more free puck. Part of decision making formula*.

The San Jose Sharks are thrilled to have acquired the talents of players of this calibre! We wish Scheifele, Niskanen, and Blundeen the best of luck with their new team and chapter in life. Although we sacrificed giving up tons of future in Mark, we believe it will be worth it if this deal can translate to a Cup or two. A team in the mix of being young and competitive, myself and GM Nail decided it'd be best to go one way of Cup or rebuild rather than stay in 'the middle of the pack' and it was in our best interest that we believe we can make it to the top, and what a great way to start it off by bringing in 2 game changers at the peaks of their respective careers.

Current Sharks Roster:

PM Bouchard - Logan Couture - PA Parenteau

Jiri Tlusty - David Desharnais - Justin Williams

Joel Ward - Dave Bolland - Jonathan Cheechoo

TJ Galiardi - Andrew Desjardins - Tommy Wingels

??

Brad Stuart - Jason Demers

Dennis Wideman - Kyle Quincey

Jeff Petry - Brendan Dillon

Justin Braun

James Reimer

Thomas Greiss
