Most people are saying it's bull$&!# because your lungs and kidneys regulate your PH levels so you cannot simply change it by drinking a water. Your PH level is fine tuned - if it wasn't you would be dead.

I think the ph balance in your gut is different than the body (blood). So maybe your gut can be more acidic ....without 'dead'?

My wife's Dr suggested a diet for her including alkaline water, it was at least 5 years ago.I have never seen her in better shape, she was ripped. But that might not have anything to do with the water.

This link shows some pros and cons, but I think the jury is still out. Not enough studies.

Sounds like you can simulate the effects of alkaline water by using lemon or apple cider vinegar. But obviously you have to drink throughout the day - lemon water all day? How does that work if you're using regular or filtered water? Dunno.

yeah, stomach acid has a ph of about 2 if I remember anything from high school biology

There's no scientific evidence or any positive double blind studies that have shown any effects of alkaline water on overall gut pH.

There is positive studies showcasing the effect of alkaline water set at a particular pH that can help eliminate acid reflux by essentially "Turning off" the enzymes that cause the reflux to occur.

I believe alkaline water is also linked to blood flow efficiency in working tissues by increasing efficiency by over 100%.

Alkaline water improves blood flow?

Just got tips from a hottie I work with.

Maybe I should continue to 'struggle with my lifts' so I can invite her with me

Be a gentleman and offer to assist her with squats.

Yes, stabilizing pH makes the blood viscosity less, allowing it to flow through blood vessels with more ease. Cardiologists tell their patients to drink a pH between 8.7 and 8.9

If you've been using a teaspoon of ACV in the morning; is that counter productive then? I've heard about 'acidic diets', but that sounds like you're eating garbage - not actually consuming things like ACV which supposedly has other numerous benefits over the long term.

Is filtered water more alkaline or do you specifically need to get alkaline water? I can get alkaline water for about the same price as I do regular filtered water for my cooler.

If you're drinking ACV and alkaline water, you're just wasting money on both products as they're counter intuitive to each other. ACV raises pH through natural acidity while alkaline will neutralize it. At the end of the day, you're left with the same starting pH but you may experience some (unproven) side benefits from ACV.

Depends on the type of filter you have. Standard fridge filters don't have the ability to change the pH. However, you can shell out some extra cash to get a specialized filter that will add pH to the water as it filters.

It neutralizes ACV? But they are both higher on the PH end of the scale?

I assume it wouldn't make sense to try alkaline water unless you are married to the idea. Say you fill up your cooler bottles with alkaline water since it's cheap enough to at least try and drink it at home regularly, but then you drink regular water at work, say a few glasses, or at the gym, which would then negate any benefit of the alkaline water? Because otherwise you need to carry a pale of alkaline water around with you every day wherever you're going - assuming you drink a lot of water such as 3L/day.

And then how would you even verify the alkaline water has any demonstrable benefit anyway - and for how long until you see said benefits. No time for the placebo effect. Too easy to dupe yourself into thinking something works but when it doesn't

Sorry not neutralize it, I meant it would be a waste of money as you're not getting any additional benefit from two substances that will more or less do the same thing.

Either I’m not making any progress, or I’m not stretching enough between and after my workouts. Every Friday I do lunges, and my thighs are killing me for days on end.

I know lunges are killer, but I’m pretty sure not stretching properly is doing it.

You should know if you're making progress or not based on depth of your split squat and the weights you're doing.

Soreness doesn't necessarily mean you're not progressing. You will always get sore if you break down the muscles efficiently.

My chest always is sore after chest day.

Hmm. Well, when I started working out back on March 21st, I was doing 3 sets of 15 with no weights. I’m still doing 3 sets of 15, but with 15lb weights on each hand (so 30lbs). Been that way for a couple months now. But, of course, I’m also doing squats, running for warmup, leg extensions, etc on the same day. Easily my hardest day on my circuit.

Second most difficult day? Arms and Core day, which was today. Although, every day I’m working my core.

Perhaps I need to start using my BCAA which I’ve largely been ignoring. I get enough sleep, so that’s great, but I certainly haven’t been stretching enough.

Look up progressive overload and throw them bcaas in the trash.

Use EAA's over BCAA's.
