nitwitt
Canucks don't for sure pick 23rd. They could pick as high as 26 if Chicago, Anaheim, Pittsburgh and Montreal all make the final 4.
nitwitt
Hagg, or Max Domi if he isn't picked by then. *
Ossi Vaananen
So are we just assuming Gauthier will be gone, or is everyone bailing on him now? I'd prefer him over Rychel.
Ossi Vaananen
I mean would you take higgins in the first round? Because that's what your going to get with rychel. A pler with no identity. Not fast, no flow in his skating, not really huge, a shot that may never be nhl ready. Which of these turn you guys on? Pleeaaee please please watch a game of his before you ask for him. You might actually get what you wish for.

zombieksa
I would go with Rychel all the way. He's exactly what we need more of.

davinci
Go Detroit and NYI!!!!!! The ranger vs. washington series is irrelevant unless one of those teams makes it to conference finals cause Washington was a conference winner but lower points and NYR didn't win a conference. So unless one of them makes it to the conference finals they're both drafting below us. The Bos vs. TOR series is the same unless one of them makes the conference finals. We'll know where we pick after the 2nd round.
Honky Cat
This year more than most I wish the Canucks would trade up and give us a jersey player. "Jersey Player": A player in which the fan or purchaser is excited to put the players name on their jersey. Used in a sentence: The Canucks have no jersey players. 73 Percent
I'd absolutely take a Higgins in the first round, but that's not what Rychel is. A search on Youtube would reveal half a dozen fights and an equal amount of massive hits. He brings toughness, and yes the goals he scores aren't exactly beautiful dangs, but he does make some pretty passes. He put up 74 pts as a 17 y/o last year. In all honesty I'd rather take a guy that doesn't have that elite offensive flare in junior, because we've seen that it doesn't always translate to success. There are countless examples of the Brule's of junior who end up being a flop at the NHL level because they've relied solely upon their offense to get them there. I'd much rather a rounded player who brings a physical edge, like Rychel.
73 Percent
Living in Windsor I've seen him play enough to say comfortably that this kid is nails. Nasty little bugger and really fun to watch.

DeNiro
I wonder if Philly would be willing to trade their 11th overall pick for Edler. Both teams win really. Philly gets a top D-man that they need. And the Canucks get some cap relief to fill holes up front, and have a chance to draft young hulking defenceman Nikita Zadorov. Philly is also a team that wants to win now, and already have quite a few young blue chippers, so may be more willing to trade that pick.
