Marc Andre Fleury could be traded you think?

Recommended Posts

If Vokoun leads the Penguins to the stanley cup victory, you think Fleury's time in Pittsburgh is done and they would trade him and keep Vokoun instead?

If so, Luongo's trade value would go down when there are better goalies with better contracts available like Fleury, Miller, Bernier, etc...

I don't think the Penguins are going to trade Fleury or buy him out at the end of the season. Vokoun is too old to keep as your number 1. If they kept him he would be retiring in a couple years and then they wouldn't have a goalie. I also believe that Fleury can still bounce back. Yeah he's had a couple of rough playoff rounds but he did win a Stanley Cup and he's shown on several occasions that he can still be a good goalie. Hell Game 1 of the playoffs this year he got a shutout. I also don't believe he's going anywhere as his best friend is Crosby. Crosby has a lot of influence in Pittsburgh. When he talks people listen. And if he still believes in Fleury then I think the organization will as well.

Fleury has always been an average goalie being supported by a high offense team. He's not elite, he's decent at best. He falls into the same category as Price (although Price doesn't have as much offensive support) in my opinion, in that they are both overrated goalies.

I don't imagine they'll trade him, even though he isn't that great, there's really not much out there that's much better at this time that would be worth it for the Pens to pick up/trade for. He might be average, but so are the rest of the goalies on the market.

they wouldn't trade Fluery because Vokun is 35 years old. He only has like two or three years in him and after that they are done because they will not have any goalie left to play because Vokun is already retired. Don't forget Fluery has won a Stanly Cup so he has exp.
