Djohal22
In my mind I think that the canucks shouldnt really shake up the immediate core too much, the only players i would get rid of are ,Booth, Ballard, Luongo, Edler, Ebbet, and Alberts. The Deals I would make are the following : Edler to Philadelphia for Either wayne Simmonds or Sean Coutourier plus a 2 or 3 round pick. Or do edler to Anahiem for Bobby ryan Buyout Booth and Ballard Also Try to get Jamie Mcbain from carolina for a possible 2 round pick if they would do it. Deal Luongo to Florida for Kris Versteeg or possibly send lou to NYI for josh bailey who would be a terrific 3rd line center. try to get ian cole from St Louis hes a good big young two way D man UFAS to sign would be : David Clarkson , Adam Burish, raffi torres Call up Nick Jensen put him on the third or second line , and keep kassian on the roster, and keep up corrado. These deals would make the most hockey sense to me .
naslund.is.king
Mcbain is somebody i want bad!second is not even close to enough tho I would only trade edler for Ryan or Myers+ott unless philly is willing to to give up both those guys:)
Djohal22
honestly i feel that getting mcbain is a possibility and the only two destinations that make sense in a deal for edler would be philly or anahiem

RunningWild
I think their best way to get younger is to buy them via amnesty. For example, take Dipietros contract and buy it out. Get say 2 top prospects from NYI in that deal. You don't give up anything from your roster and get 2 young studs. There are lots of poor a$$ed teams in the NHL who would likely trade top prospects/quality roster players if a team took on their $$. Canucks have $$ and need young guys. It's the best way to do it IMO.

naslund.is.king
Ya, I'm not sure how realistic it is. But if he wants to win - he will. You'd love to trade Edler for Coots, but then who replaces Edler? All these trades look good on paper, but you need to replace the player. Canucks just don't have the prospect pool to replace players. The only way I can see them bringing in younger guys is: 1) through Luongo trade 2) buy them (as I posted above) They won't get an opportunity for another 8-10 years to amnesty players. Use it while you can, use it strategically. They could set up their franchise for a long time if they do this right.
