Snake Doctor
That's true, the longer he has worked, the worse off the team became.
Dogbyte
MG must be great at the stock exchange. Quality hockey players, not so much.
ForsbergTheGreat
Just like the draft everything looks better when you look back on your choices as "should have done this". Overall I'd say he's done a pretty good job.

ShakyWalton
What a dogs breakfast,,not many quality trades or signings there,,makes it look a whole lot worse than it already is...now with no Canuck farm team next year, it only adds to the ClusterF..k. Things really dont look so rosey in Canuckville anymore,,I hope we can get on the right path soon or we are in for some hard times ahead.

HC20.0
It seems that we were fleeced in the Ballard deal because AV wont play him. I always have and still do think Ballard is a solid dman. Besides Grabner was waived. Took him 2 wake up calls and some tutoring from tavares to right his ship. So really its just a one off, and if Ballard doesnt get bought out and we have a new coach next season. Look for ballard to stay in the lineup. gourami12
I agree MG's biggest busts Ballard and Kassian were trades made because the players going did not fit under AV's team The roster spot was up for grabs between Grabner and Raymond. AV picked Raymond (more defensively ready and versatile at that point) so MG let Grabner go. If AV liked offence, chances are he might have given Grabner more of a shot to see what he could do. Hodgson...same thing. There was a rift between Hodgson and AV. We could have really used Hodgson this year but AV was set on playing him 3rd line. If AV was even remotely open to the idea of moving Kes to Wing (either with Sedins or like he did with Roy), chances are Hodgson would still be a Canuck. However, he was thrown under the bus by AV by AV essentially going to the media and saying Hodgson used his back as an "excuse" which later revealed he needed surgery... no wonder his dad was all up in the Canucks business... If I had a son was excelled at every level of hockey and the Canucks mis-diagnosed his injury, I would be concerned about his well being as well. In fact, it was Cody's dad's idea of getting a 2nd opinion that actually found the injury and fixed him) I think ppl are discounting a lot of the positive moves MG made good acquisitions Ehrhoff Higgins Lapierre Tanev Corrado Torres Booth (on paper) Garrison Hamhuis undecided or too early for Jensen, Guance, Schroeder (maybe next year when new coach gives him a chance)

Cigano
Made only a few moves that haven't worked well, but that is understandable and somethings don't always work out. But I think a lot of his mistakes, are from the moves he HASN"T made, and players he has kept over the players he has let go. i.e a few bad moves for me, (not trading Schneider for a good piece that could have helped our 2011 run or even last year, not keeping Torres, made a good move to get Ehrhoff but he is gone 2 years later, re-signing Bernier, although he was gone in a trade still didn't get it, and the Ballard trade, but that has a lot to do with AV. i still think Ballard should be in our top 4 playing big minutes and that is what Gillis thought too. Primal Optimist
I read it a bit differently than most people. I read every line of that list and thought one at a time "back then would I do this?" and over 90% of the time the answer was either YES or as a fan i don't know enough to evaluate it. Seriously, very rarely would i have done totally different than MG. I think he is a good steward of a top end hockey team. After Five years of "endouring'' the plague of mike gillis we are still at the top of the standings, more or less and we are still in the playoffs..Not sure what anyone here would do differently in each line item of that list but keep in mind its easy to guess about 2008, 9 10 and 11 from the finish line of 2013.
