bobby loocid dreamer
We have some great pieces we can move in order to get younger and tougher to play against. To Washington: Roberto Luongo To Vancouver: Michal Neuvirth, 2nd, Rights to Mike Ribiero Why? Luongo would fix a hole for the Capitals. Neuvirth can battle Lack for the back up position and Ribiero would look good as our 2nd centre. To Philadelphia: Alexander Edler To Vancouver: Scott Hartnell, Kurtis Foster Why? Edler has come under scrutiny for not being "the guy" in Vancouver. A change of pace may be just the ticket. Hartnell is big and nasty and would look great in a Canucks uniform. Foster is a UFA but if we can sign him for 1.5 he is a solid depth guy. To Florida: Ryan Kesler To Vancouver: Jonathan Huberdeau, Shawn Matthias Why? Kesler would need to waive his NTC but I think he is itching to be that #1 centre. He would fit that role in Florida. Huberdeau is a steep price but I think they pay it in order to get Kesler. Matthias is an RFA who can play that 4rd line C position beautifully. CAPGEEK.COM USER GENERATED ROSTER My Custom Lineup FORWARDS Daniel Sedin ($6.100m) / Henrik Sedin ($6.100m) / Scott Hartnell ($4.750m) Jonathan Huberdeau ($3.194m) / Mike Ribeiro ($5.200m) / Alexandre Burrows ($4.500m) Chris Higgins ($2.500m) / Jordan Schroeder ($1.250m) / Jannik Hansen ($1.350m) Dale Weise ($0.800m) / Shawn Matthias ($1.300m) / Zack Kassian ($0.870m) Andrew Ebbett ($0.800m) / DEFENSEMEN Dan Hamhuis ($4.500m) / Kevin Bieksa ($4.600m) Jason Garrison ($4.600m) / Chris Tanev ($1.800m) Kurtis Foster ($1.300m) / Frank Corrado ($0.599m) Andrew Alberts ($1.300m) / GOALTENDERS Cory Schneider ($4.000m) Michal Neuvirth ($2.500m) OTHER Buyout: David Booth ($0.000m) Buyout: Keith Ballard ($0.000m) ------ CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $66,413,611; BONUSES: $2,300,000 CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $186,389 On Line 1, Hartnell can protect the Sedins while providing scoring. Our second line is completely revamped to infuse scoring with youth. 3rd line is fast with scoring. Our 4th is big mean and are very capable of playing 12 minutes a game. On D we are asking Hamhuis and Bieksa to be the studs they are. Garrison with Tanev is solid the 3rd pairing may be a bit weak but both have looked more than capable in the time I have been able to watch them. Schneider and Neuvirth is solid too. Aladeen
All looks great from a Canucks Point of View... not sure any of those teams would agree to those trades but if they would I would do it.

ken kaniff
Washingotn doesnt need Luongo. they are content with Holtby, who played well this season and in the playoffs, despite giving up 5 goals in game 7. makes no sense for washington would rather get a younger guy for edler but i guess its alright. edler has more value however so they need to add more. florida says no. kesler is injured more often than not and they arent going to give up a future star for an injured star. Apples
Don't like the Luongo trade. Basically Lu for Neuvirth and a 2nd since Riberio will be UFA..
bobby loocid dreamer
From these comments I think all the trades are fairly fair outside of the the Florida trade where the current concenus is a big win for Vancouver. The proposed trade was Kesler for Huberdeau and Matthias. It was deemed unfair because Florida is not going to trade Huberdeau who is a future star (no argument here) for current star, Ryan Kesler. Here is why I think it IS fair. Huberdeau is a Left Winger- they currently have Huberdeau, Fleischmann, Kopecky, and Bergenheim at that position. Florida's top Centre is Marcel Goc. Florida is painfully weak up the middle. Kesler would be their number one centre for the next 8-10 years. I look at Florida and they are honestly not far from being a playoff team every year- their one glaring weakness is in the Centre position and their trade addresses that. Hodgson!!
I'm pretty sure Matthias is better than Schroeder. Hes a big, tough centre who was on pace for 36 points last season, so he should probably be able to get 40 in Vancouver. Schroeder is 5'9 and I doubt he will get over 25 points next season. Downtownbeans
Trade Kelser and Luongo for Mattias and Howden, providing you sign Ribeiro first. Might be an overpayment but that would justify eating Lu's salary. Sign Ryder and ? plug for the fourth line. Buy out or trade Booth and Ballard. Good to go? Sedin-Sedin- Ryder Burrows-Ribeiro-Jensen Higgins-Mattias-Hansen UFA-Lapierre-Kassian Hamhuis-Bieksa Edler-Tanev Garrison-Corrado

bobby loocid dreamer
Few responses your comments. Hodgson!!- Matthias is a good player who would probably be a solid 3 line centre on some teams. I suppose he could take Schroeder's spot on the 3rd line but I like Schroeder there as his speed would look fantastic next to Higgins and Hansen. Also, it never hurts to have scoring from your 4th line. Downtownbeans- That is an absolutely awful trade you proposed. Matthias is a 3/4 line Centre and Howden is a bottom pairing D man. You are willing to give up 2 allstars for spare parts? UGH. Magikal- Simmonds is a solid player I would take on our team. To me, Hartnell and Simmonds are interchangable but I don't think Philadelphia trades him away purely due to his age/potential.
