The question that is debated throughout CDC is whether we rebuild or we tweak our line up to take one last run at the Cup while the Sedin's, still are near the top of their game. Could you stand to be like the Edmonton, Florida, Calgary or Islander fans and suffer through years of being near the basement of the league. Would you honestly go to the games year in year out? I know my answer. I would like to know the collective...what does CDC vote?

I'm sorry OP, but 'tweaking' present lineup isn't going to get us in a position for a run for the Cup. I thought this year would have proven that myth. We are neither a few pieces away nor are we at a Calgary rebuilding stage ... we're stuck in mediocre limbo.

Seriously our year to capitalize was back in 2011 and we didn't and i personally don't we have what it takes to do another run with this core. Sedins just don't have the compete level in the playoffs. They just don't want it as much as other players do. If they did they would have shown this by really stepping up their game in the playoffs but they haven't

Id say our time with this core already has passed with this core and we will soon start going downhill, even possibly missing the playoffs eventually. It's wise to start a semi rebuilt right now and get some young players and let our young players have the chance to play.

My idea of a retool is trading away trading away these pieces in this order and hopefully getting what we need for another long run of playoff appearances. First, off I would trade Alex Edler and our 2013 1st to Phili for Courtier and their first, The ship out Luongo, Kesler and either our 2014 or Schroeder to Florida for their 2nd over all and Mathais and their 2014 2nd if I could get it.. I would add our 2014 1st overall to sweeten it if nessesary. we would then have 3 bonified centers, the 2nd overall pick, which I would pick McKinnon with and the 11th overall, which would be either another winger/center (one that plays both) or a dman). with our third pick this year, I would pick another goalie.............then I would go after a couple free agent, which cost us nothing but money and would be like free draft picks.....You then build through the draft, trades and free agency.......I don't like giving up Kesler, but he isn't a true 1st line center and Mckinnon is....case closed. Courtier takes over Keslers duties and Mathais is better than anything we have as a 3rd line center.
