Young, Fast and Better than Current Team

Recommended Posts

Before I start, some of this maybe unrealistic but a guy can dream right?

Buyout:

K. Ballard (4.2million)

REASON: Ballard hasn't been used to full potential and its best to move on.

Trade 1:

Vancouver:

E.Malkin ( 8.7million)

J. Neal ( 5 million)

Pittsburg:

D.Sedin (6.1million)

H.Sedin (6.1million)

D.Booth ( 4.25million)

1st Pick 2013

1st pick 2014

2nd pick 2013

REASON: In 2014/2015, Pittsburg needs to sign Letang (will need a raise on his 3.5million), Niskanen. Orpik, Sutter and Kunitz. If they had kept Malkin, he too would have needed to be resigned. Pittsburg get 3 picks plus 2 art-ross caliber players but Booth who has the speed to thrive in the east. Vancouver gets Malkin and Neal...nothing more needs to be said. Pittsburg still has 5.126 million to spend for the upcoming year and only need to fill up 3 forward postions.

Trade 2:

Vancouver:

B.Ryan ( 5.1 million)

Anaheim:

K. Bieska ( 4.6million)

J. Schroeder (RFA)

2nd pick 2014

REASON: Ryan's name has popped up a lot on the rumour mill. If he is indeed going to be traded, I think the a Bieska and a pick plus a decent prospect is fair.

Trade 3:

Vancouver:

J.Hedberg ( 1.4million)

1st pick 2013

2nd pick 2013

New Jersey:

R.Loungo ( 5,333million)

Reason: When Brodeur retires, New Jersey has no one to take over, from my understanding (could be wrong, as I don't know their minor league and prospects). New Jersey gets a gold winning goaltender and an all star/borderline elite goalie. Canucks get a back up plus a pick as well as the much needed cap space.

With this, the canucks have about 10.88 million left to spend on 7 positions.

Re-Sign: Tanev for 1million

Bring up: Corrado, Jensen, and Gaunce....Gillis said that young players need to set up for teams to excel due to their ELC.

Sign: Raffi Torres for 1.5million, Ryan Whitney (PP D) for maybe 3.5million, Boyd Gordon for 4th line at 1.4million

They still have next year to forfeit the 1st rounder (and have already chosen to do so). They won't trade their pick this year anyway since the draft is in New Jersey and PR-wise it'd be good for their fans to see them pick in the first round.

The other trades will never happen. Tampa doesn't need a 3rd goalie, Bieksa has an NTC, Pittsburgh takes back more cap than they give up and the Sedins are pending UFAs after this coming season.
