Note: this transcript is not word for word and some non- important stuff was not included.

Sekeres: Why has not the GM come out and said I shoulder the blame for season and put it on me?

Gillis: We are all responsible to some measure. Rest assured you can assume I shouldered all responsibility and we did not get results we thought we should have for past 2 seasons

Sekeres: What type of coach you looking for?

Gillis: I want an up beat style with a fats transition. We are going to look for a new different kind of voice that can resonate with team.

Sekeres: Will coach have to be philosophically aligned with you? Can you play up beat style?

Gillis: You need to be able to play both ways (defensively and offensively). You need to be younger, you need to be balanced/etc

Price: Did you spend time trying to replace Malhotra during the lockout?

Gillis: Yeah we did in the off season but then also goes on to mention it is difficult to make roster moves in lockout season

Price: How do you hire a coach without making the roster moves

Gillis: No because we have our core signed up (goalie, defence, forwards). There will not be monumental changes to the core. There are going to be young guys who will make the team but we will have to live with their mistakes

Price: There will be no significant changes to the core?

Gillis: Maybe but we need to get more out of them in key situations

Sekeres: Will Scot Arneil be a candidate in coaching process?

Gillis: Yep

Sekeres: Will next HC get full autonomy to make decisions

Gillis: Yeah he will

Sekeres: Will 2 assistants be fired by team or new coach?

Gillis: It will be a collaboration between the coach and the team to get the new person

Price: In a perfect world is Brendan Gaunce on the team next year

Gillis: He will be given every opportunity to make the team

Sekeres: Whats going on with the AHL franchise

Gillis: Hoping to say we will have something next week. We are working on something.

Wow. GM just said theres going to be youth, and could be core changes if it works for the team. He also said the youth need to go and play and not worry about mistakes cause they'll learn from it.

I think the appearance of having no fun is situational - if you keep that appearance in context, it is an appearance gleemed when Gillis is in direct conversation with the dimwits in the Vancouver media.

Who would be having fun talking to Botchford, Gallagher, Willes, etc?

Mike continues to stress the youth movement ane the patience needed to allow the rookies to make mistakes for the longer term benifit.

I can't help but believe AV's handling of Vancouver's prospects was a major reason for his departure. Yes, some players developed well under his tenure but those players (Sedins, Kesler etc) would have achieved success on any team and possibly earlier in their careers.
