Nonis wanted to acquire Brad Richards

Heard this mentioned on 1040 a few days ago.

This was one of the moves that led to Nonis getting fired.

Nonis wanted to acquire Richards when he left Tampa Bay. In hindsight, it was probably good he didn't get him as the price to acquire him would have been alot, not to mention how much it would have cost to sign him.

Nonis ultimately made the right call. If he had made that trade, the team would have never had the success it has had.

Unfortunately for him, it cost him his job cause he didn't do enough to get the team into the playoffs.

We have Nonis to thank for alot of good moves too though.

Nonis acquired Luongo

Burke made the big draft day trade so he could draft both Sedins

Those were the biggest moves they did.

What's Gillis biggest move he's done in his tenture? Signing Sundin? Compared to Burke and Nonis, Gillis has been a complete and utter joke.
