CanucksFanMike
I would prefer Tippett or Ruff before Eakins but I think he could be a solid assistant perhaps.

Plum
I don't like the idea of getting an AHL coach as our NHL coach, even though it isn't confirmed who our coach will be.
The Magician
I don't want Tippet and his defensive boring style of hockey. Perhaps the Leafs are being cooperative for a Luongo deal in the future?

c00kies
lol. We are granted permission to talk to a coach and Luongo gets mentioned.
S.Gill
You don't block a coach from a head coaching opportunity like that. That would make the Leafs look really petty. They really don't have much of a choice. I don't think they have any plans of replacing Carlyle anytime soon.
Drouin
Heard about this guy, wouldn't mind him being an assistant to Boucher
Drouin
who would want to replace Carlyle, hes like one the best coaches in the NHL has ever seen.
The Magician
You do realize Tippett was probably dealing the hand he was dealt right? Pheonix wasn't exactly overstocked with offensive talent so they had to resort to a defensive style to prevail.

DeNiro
People need to stop calling Tippett a defense only coach. Do some research and look at his time in LA and early on with Dallas. He coaches the team based on the players he has. And in both Dallas and Phoenix there wasn't exactly a whole lot of talent. In Phoenix he's turned a very average D-core into a solid group, and taught his players to score by committee. If Tippett's available, he's far and above the other coaching options that are out there right now.

TOMapleLaughs
Tippett couldn't get anything done in the playoffs either. He's sub-AV.

DeNiro
Are you serious? It doesn't matter where a coach previously worked, if they're a good coach, they're a good coach...
