Relfk
That would be the dream duo IMO. The problem is, Eakins may get offers for head coaching positions, and therefore may not be willing to take an assistant position. And Tippett from the sounds of it may not even be leaving the Coyotes. I wish there was a way we could trade the Coyotes money for him, because we all know they could use it. DeNiro
Another intriguing option would be Peter Laviolette if the Flyers end up canning him. A former cup winner that would know how to handle a veteran group.

Relfk
Why is that? Just bc Nonis wasn't dumb enough to give up alot for a huge contract that no one else was willing to take on at that time? He's uncooperative? You're hilarious. Your business must be very successful everyone just cooperating and agreeing with you.

Gonz
I don't think Eakins would be the top candidate unless Gillis is still doing his so called "thinking outside the box". Hopefully he hires a nhl experience coach since this is a vet team. But someone who has worked with younger players too.
Gonz
I think he meant allowing the Canucks to talk to Eakins, not the Luongo trade.

chompers14
Based on what exactly? Your gut instinct? I'm guessing you just learned who Eakins is recently, yet somehow you already know he'll fail as a head coach?
wallstreetamigo
Maybe its because the media seems to really over-hype anyone or anything Toronto when it comes to hockey......you never know for sure if you are getting all that is advertised.
