Everybody Hates Raymond
(CNN) -- A new SARS-like virus recently found in humans is "a threat to the entire world," according to the director-general of the United Nations' World Health Organization. The so-called novel coronavirus "is not a problem that any single affected country can keep to itself or manage all by itself," Margaret Chan said Monday in her closing remarks at the 66th World Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. The world needs to pull together its resources to properly tackle the virus which, Chan said, is her "greatest concern" at present. "We understand too little about this virus when viewed against the magnitude of its potential threat," she said, and more information is needed "quickly" and "urgently." "We do not know where the virus hides in nature. We do not know how people are getting infected. Until we answer these questions, we are empty-handed when it comes to prevention. These are alarm bells. And we must respond," she said.
Xbox
They developed another killer virus in China combining H1N1 and H5N1. That was also a threat to the entire world. I hope nothing becomes of either of those 2. It's scary for sure.

EX_Bert_Worshipper
I hate to sound "meh" about this, but I agree that every year there is some big scare in the media, sending everyone into a big panic and it turns out to be not much more of threat than the flu is every year. I hope this is another example of that.
Jägermeister
I hope it isn't as devastating as the the H1N1 or Bird Flu was! Good times.

Offensive Threat
SARS was a huge waste of taxpayers money when hospitals across Canada were forced to use their all too limited resources to set up for an outbreak they knew wasnt coming. Hopefully we learned not to allow mass hysteria to guide medical spending.
