Ghewlash
I'm very interested to see how Kassian does under a new regime, and I wanna hear your thoughts too. I'm personally really high on the kid. I hope when Gillis says he wants to get bigger and younger he also means giving a guy like Kassian a ton of opportunity. He deserved it last year and got it early on, but was taken off the Sedin line after piling up goals because the Sedin's weren't getting points. He then never really got back on it, aside from the odd shift here and there. We saw something similar with other players under Vig over the years, and I'm optimistic that mentally will change and Kassian will break out. JensenFan2011
He's just so lazy half the time on the ice it drives me nuts.
smithers joe
if a new coach can make him play better defensively, then great....

canucksnihilist
He needs a mentor, not a tormentor. Right coach = success. Wrong coach = trade

nuck nit
His skill level with the puck isn't NHL calibre. He needs to ice time and confidence but coaches retain their jobs by winning.
Bruce Boudreau
Are u comfortable with this lineup? Have him workout with the Sedins in Sweden and develop chemistry. Wouldn't be surprised if this is Gillis' plan. Reset from within. Don't have cap space to sign free agents and can't make trades with all the no trade clauses. Drouin
He'll be better, a new coach will bench him when he's playing bad. Hopefully he won't, and i'm pretty sure under a new coach he'll get a better opportunity rather than skating with a bunch of scrubs for the majority of the season. Tortorella's Rant
He really needs to start improving and be an effective player on a fairly regular basis otherwise we're going to continue to look like we got our ass kicked in this trade, which doesn't surprise me because it was made out of desperation, not logic. King Heffy
His defensive issues are overblown. Kassian is fine in his own end unless he doesn't have someone like Edler running around providing less coverage than a g-string. As soon as this happens, Kassian gets confused because there's two wide open players in prime scoring positions and he's not sure who to cover. On top of hat, he' was playing with different players every shift, often on the fourth line with guys who had no business stepping onto NHL ice (looking at you, Ebbett). Not surprising he wouldn't always know exactly what his linemates would be doing in his own end. AV is the one who should be in the AHL, not Kassian.
