Franz Liszt
Introductory notes: - Dave Tippett as head coach - Larry Robinson as defense/PK coach - Lindy Ruff as offense/PP coach - Kassian to the AHL for some further developing To NYI: Roberto Luongo, Chris Higgins, Anton Rodin (RFA) + 2014 2nd To VAN: Strome, NYI 1st + DiPietro Luongo = Strome + DiPietro Higgins + Rodin + 2nd = NYI 1st We buyout DiPietro's contract for the fact that we get Strome in the deal. We add a good 2nd/3rd liner, prospect and a 2nd for their 1st as well. They have lots of center depth so a couple wingers would help them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To TBL: Alexander Edler, Jordan Schroeder (RFA), Derek Roy (UFA rights) + VAN 2014 5th To VAN: Teddy Purcell, Ryan Malone (-50% salary) & Benoit Pouliot (RFA) Edler + Roy's UFA rights = Purcell + Malone Schroeder + 5th = Pouliot This one is a tough one. They get a top-2 defender in Edler. They offered Purcell + their 1st for them before the season started, but now that their pick is a top-3 pick, they won't trade it. They get a good playmaking center with in Roy which in turn they can put Killorn over to LW where he has had more success. Schroeder and the 5th are for Pouliot's RFA rights as he went for 2 5ths last season. In order for Tampa Bay to be successful, they must trade Lecavalier & Brewer to teams looking for center and defensive depth, but those teams are also near the cap floor, like Winnipeg and Colorado. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To NYR: Gaunce, Corrado, Archibald & Sweatt (RFA) To VAN: Boyle, Moore & McIlrath Gaunce + Corrado = Moore + McIlrath Archibald & Sweatt = Boyle The Rangers traded their 1st for Rick Nash. Acquiring Brendan Gaunce would help ease the fact of no 1st rounder in this year's draft. Outside J.T. Miller, they have little center depth, while they have a lot of defensive depth, so a Gaunce + for Moore & McIlrath part of a deal is pretty fair with Corrado, who has NHL experience in the books now to help retain that depth, while the Canucks get much needed size. Boyle has had a down year, which made his stock fall a bit. 2 prospects for him is a fair deal because the Ranger's farm team has lacked some forward depth throughout the past few years. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To TOR: Ballard, Sauvé (RFA) + VAN 2013 1st To VAN: Franson (RFA), Finn + TOR 2013 2nd Ballard + Sauvé = Franson 1st = Finn + 2nd The Maple Leafs have little amount of puck mover defenders outside of Gardiner and Liles. Ballard would help that aspect and the defensive depth in general. Toronto would have to buyout Komisarek first though. Sauvé would help the Marlies defensive depth and in a more win now mode. For our 1st round pick, we get Matt Finn would won't be ready for at least 2-3 more seasons and a 2nd round pick. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To OTT: Booth, Joslin (RFA) + VAN 2014 1st To VAN: Wiercioch (RFA), Gryba + OTT 2013 4th Booth = 4th Joslin + 2014 1st = Wiercioch + Gryba Ottawa has a ton of cap space. Booth would help the size in the middle-6 forwards, plus Joslin would help their defensive depth, along with a 1st in next year's draft, which they can use to get some win-now help if they would like. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ VANCOUVER 2013 DRAFT PICKS: NYI 1st (15th) = Max Domi - C TOR 2nd (51st) = Tristan Jarry - G VAN 3rd (85th) = Nick Baptiste - RW OTT 4th (108th) = Jordan Subban - D VAN 5th (145th) = Jonathan Ismael Diaby - D VAN 6th (175th) = Jorgen Karterud - LW VAN 7th (205th) = Luke Ripley - D ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ AHL FORWARDS & DEFENSE Ebbett/Jensen - Strome/Domi - Kassian Jensen - Domi/Ebbett - Gordon Blomstrand - Schneider - Mallet Freisen - Lain - Desbiens Grenier Vandermeer - McIlrath Andersson - Polasek McEneny - Tommernes Mullen Cannata & Jarry ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LET WALK: Roy, Raymond, Alberts & Weise RE-SIGN: Lapierre - 2 years @ $2 million.
