Victime de la purge qui a aussi emporté Alain Vigneault et Newell Brown à la fin mai à Vancouver, Bowness a signé un contrat de trois ans pour épauler le travail de l’entraîneur chef Jon Cooper chez le Lightning de Tampa Bay. L’information a été rapportée lundi par notre informateur LNH Renaud Lavoie. Bowness a passé les sept dernières saisons aux côtés de Vigneault derrière le banc des Canucks. À Tampa, il prendra en quelque sorte la place de Daniel Lacroix, qui a récemment appris que ses services n’étaient plus requis par le Lightning.
