Choosing to take money, fame or personal success over all other considerations is very American thinking, to be sure. It is because of that line of thinking why there is no industry left in the country, the environment is serious decline, and much of the nation is becoming 3rd world. Industry left because they knew which side their bread was buttered on.

It's also the internal excuse for wholesale criminality. Not the least of which is the way Washington runs with regards to lobbying. It's the very same argument.
