oldnews
I say yes. The excuses - that it was a mistake and there was no intent - are laughable imo.
oldnews
The "I'm sorry" thing, imo, is irrelevent.
Brad Marchand
If that was accidental, his aim is worse than Marty McSorley's.
Systemaddict
Keith's act is starting to get old. At this point it's gotta be clear to everyone that's he's got a mean/dirty streak and should be viewed as that type of player. Doesn't matter if you mean to or didn't mean to - that's a dumb play that could have seriously injured Carter... But since this is the NHL and Carter didn't leave with a concussion - he'll probably get a fine or 1 game... Because, you know, heaven forbid the league ever punishes the act and not the result. Apples
Yes, wreckless use of the stick. Suspend that goof

Alex Burrows 14
Yes! And I'm not saying that cuz I hate keith. Which I do. He clearly knew what he was doing. 5 games. But he will get 1 I bet or nothing.
French Toast Mafia
I would probably suspend him a game or two for that, the NHL on the other hand will probably not.
-Vintage Canuck-
@TSNBobMcKenzie 1m My reaction was it won't likely lead to suspension but if he gets dinged a game, Keith has no one to blame but himself for being careless.
Amish Rake Fighter
It looks to me like Keith snapped, targeted Carter's head and then realized what he did and went into damage control. Given his record, I can't see him avoiding a suspension....of course this is the NHL we're talking about
DownUndaCanuck
Wow, using the stick as a weapon - that should be the series. Keith has a history, he's had a 5 game ban before but anytime you use a stick as a weapon you should be ejected and off the ice, or this game is going to get real nasty real fast. Problem is, Carter wasn't badly hurt so the league will let it slip, 1 game max, but Keith really should be done for the series after that. Considering this is coming right after the league decided on mandatory visors and could have blinded or ended Carter's career, Keith doesn't deserve to be on the ice. I hope his suspension allows LA to get back into the series.
Lancaster
Didn't Carter try to slash Keith's wrist when he was trying to pick up his glove?
Standing_Tall#37
Was a little one handed chop in the heat of the battle....nothing compared to the old days. Carter deserved something, d*ck move on his part.
CanucksFanMike
Keith is clearly a dirty player... No fckn way that was accidental. He should definitely be suspended for that.
Captain Aerosex
Nope. Maybe a fine though. I don't like Keith and his sneaky, dirty plays. But giving him anything more than a game for that is ridiculous IMO.

ALTtimegreat
More dangerous than the Torres play. Suspend him for the rest of the playoffs and more but its shanahan. He'll look the other way since he is friends with the hawks management.
Smashian Kassian
Only a fine. I hate Keith, think he should have got more for the Daniel Elbow. But this isn't worthy of a suspension.
