bobby loocid dreamer
Trade 1: To VAN: Anders Lindback, Teddy Purcell To TBL: Alex Edler Why? Tampa jumps at this deal. They finish with the Lindback experiment. Purcell is a key cog but Brett Connolly is ready for a top 6 role. They land Alex Edler and that never hurts. From Vancouver's POV, they need to trade Edler while his value is high and in return get that top 6 forward we need so badly. Lindback and go back to the backup role that he does so well. Edler = Purcell, Lindback Trade 2: To VAN: NJ 1st (9th overall), Krys Barch To NJD: Roberto Luongo, VAN 1st. Why? New Jersey needs a goaltender. Luongo shores that up for the next 5-7 years. In return they fall 15 spots in the 1st round and give up a bottom six forward in Barch. I have been debating this trade for a while as it really depends on the value you place on Luongo. I think this is fairly fair. Trade 3: To VAN: CAR 1st (5th overall) To CAR: NJ 1st, Jordan Schroeder, VAN 4th. Why? It is a lot to give up to jump up 4 spots but the quality of prospect makes it a necessary move. Schroeder is expendable with the development of Gaunce. With the 5th pick, we must take Valeri Nushishkin. Trade 4: To VAN: Jeff Schultz To WSH: Keith Ballard Why? Schultz has asked out of Washington. Trading guys who need a change of scenery just makes too much sense. Trade 5: To VAN: Matt Martin, NYI 3rd To NYI: David Booth, Zack Kassian Why? Martin is the perfect bottom 6 guy who has solid value. If Kassian develops he could be huge for their top 6. Big IF though. Booth has an ugly contract but NYI needs to get to the cap floor. We could even pay half of Booth's salary to upgrade the 3rd to a 2nd! Zack Kassian = Matt Martin David Booth = NYI 3rd With those trades we are a significantly better team. Apples
Only trade I like is trade #1. Lindback would be a great backup and Purcell is a legit top 6 forward who can score and pass
BananaMash
Zack Kassian = Matt Martin So if they're equal now, why wouldnt we keep Kassian for the added potential?

Apples
Trade VALUE is equal. What they bring to their respective teams is what makes the trade fair. Kassian may turn out to be a stud but Matt Martin can help the Canucks more NOW than Kassian can.

goblix
I like the WAS trade, I think getting Lindback isn't necessary nor do I think Tampa wants to give up on the goaltender at the moment, Purcell is good but not at the cost of Edler... I'd expect some great stuff in return for Edler. On Lu with NJD, maybe, not sure if NJD can handle the Lu contract, only reason why NYI may be interested is the simultaneous trade/buyout of Depietro which may or may not leverage his contract on a team losing money. Not trading Kassian, gave up too much for him to just toss him aside based on a might need. I like the thought of drafting Nichushkin, CAR may want some defensive prospect rather than schroeder, they are full on center depth in the top 6. Skinner / E. Staal / J. Staal
Pears
Why is Kassian included in trade proposals now? He's not getting traded anytime soon so stop the nonsense.
Drouin
Kassian >> Martin Young and a whole lot of potential to be a top 6 forward. Martin will always be a bottom
"Bull" Horvat
lol trade 5 ... not only because of the Martin = Kassian = Hodgson value ... but unfortunately, Booth will not be traded.
Phil_314
I was with you until the 4th trade (Ballard > Jeff Schultz), then that last one Kassian = Martin?! Also, on a more minor note I'd want to get Ryan Carter instead of Krys Barch; Ryan's a decent bottom 6 guy who can play wing or center.

Dilly Canuck
Only trade I like is #3 but I doubt the Hurricanes take our 1st, Schroeder and a 4th. I do like the idea of acquiring Purcell and Matt Martin though.
