Kesler value + drafting

Recommended Posts

Kesler is tremendous, though he has had injuries its only been 2 years since he won the selke and if he avoids injury he will be back to himself and hitting his prime. You can't compare him to Richards. (Refer to another proposal of how kesler isnt worth much or something cause of this comparison) Richard won the conn Smythe and cup 9 years ago, back then a team would have easily traded a top 5 for Richards. In 7 years kesler will be the same if not better.

Kesler is strong, big, fast, sniper, stellar defensively, and can play all areas of the ice.

Nashville missed the playoffs this year because they lost a key piece in suter and lack of offence.

These proposals are all opinion based and my opinion if trading kesler would look like this

To Nashville: Kesler, Edler, Jensen

To Vancouver: 1st 2013 (4th overall), Filip

Forsberg and 2nd round, 1st 2014

If you ask me two firsts a blue chip prospect and a second is worth kesler, edler and someone i feel wouldn't fit well with our team

But since Nashville will need time for their players to adjust to a new team, i dont see them making the playoffs next year (see Minnesotas parise and suter, barely got them in on a very strong team) which i feel would give us another high pick next year for another great great prospect.

In such a deep draft we are not only gaining Forsberg (blue chip), barkov (gold chip? Haha)

Lazar (our pick and blue chip) and subban (blue chip)

If you ask me two firsts a blue chip prospect and a second is worth kesler, edler and someone i feel wouldn't fit well with our team

Draft barkov (4th overall) and Curtis lazar (24th) Jordan subban 34th or 64th if he falls

The sedins are Swedish along with Forsberg, he would develop so fast under them and make a big presence with his size, and he would learn so much from the sedins.

Barkov is a center and would step into a big role of number 2 center, if you don't think he is ready, well he has played in the top finish league since he was 16, and was almost a point a game player this year. He also would learn a lot through captain hank ahead of him the in the center position.

Curtis lazar (24th) is a sniper. His highlights are so fun to watch and he could become a real threat in the nhl with his shot. He could play along side gaunce and build chemistry. He also has North American game style so he has all the tools, which will only get better.

Jordan subban (34th) played under the same coach and organization as his brother pk... His coach says Jordan is a better overall player for his age and better offensively than pk was at his age. He could be a real steal.

And then we have next years pick.

I would like this

To Florida: Kesler, Schneider, Jensen and Edler

To Vancouver: 1st, Gudbranson,Bjugstad and Versteeg

Value might be off. What do you think?

We will draft Jones, Mackinnon, Drouin or Nichushkin

I think that Kesler ++ is worth a 1st 2nd and Forsberg without question. Edler with Weber, Kesler on a first line after burying them single handedly and Jensen...i'd be hard pressed to let him go and would consider flipping our first if Mattha isn't available

I would only trade Kesler if we had a young center coming back. Mackinnon or Drouin would need to come back so trade up to the 4th overall then trade up again with florida for the 2nd overall pick. or trade for the 4th and then trade for burminstrov or another young center.

If we are losing a center we need a center. My head hurts when I think of Schroeder anchoring the 2nd or 3rd line, but I am loving Nicushkin if Mackinnon is not available. Which is why I have no problems if Gillis packages 1/3the top 9 and one of our star goalies away to get two of the top 5 overall picks and a prospect or two
