Pears
Per Dreger @DarrenDreger: I believe the Oilers will announce Ralph Krueger is out as head coach, but they may not announce his replacement for a few days. @DarrenDreger: The Oilers are keen on Dallas Eakins. Wouldn't be surprised if he's named this week. Eakins was also in running for Stars and Canucks. @DarrenDreger: Eakins is ready to be an NHL head coach. I'll be very surprised if he's not Edmonton's man. And it's official: @DarrenDreger: No question, Krueger is out in Edmonton.

mrluongo
Eakins is gone, Gillis gambled again, interviewed scrubs like arneil and Joe FRICKAN sacco, while oilers swooped in and grabbed eakins. brutal
Scorevat
F***! hopefully somehow he doesnt go for edm, but if i were to chose, i would look at edmonton as being a young team full of young stars and will be definite contenders in the near future. Canucks_fo_life
Didn't Eakins have two interviews with Vancouver?
Darkstar
Eakins on the Oilers makes a ton of sense. He knows how to deal with younger players.
LegionOfDoom
Wasn't Eakins seen headed to Vancouver a couple days ago at the airport?
cmpunk
so Kruger is only out because they want Eakins, and looks like they will get him.
Relfk
Schultz and now Eakins.. Just great.. Gillis, please act faster and more smartly so the Oilers don't come in and steal whatever you've been trying to acquire.. Looks like it's down to Stevens, Ruff, Boucher, Gulutzan. Anyone else? sampy
IMO Eakins first choice is still Van. He has a house in Van and his wife lives there all year. Canucks are a better team, organization and way better city to live in.
Relfk
The only thing we have going for us is that his wife lives in Vancouver. I think anyone with a brain would choose Vancouver over Edmonton in terms of weather or city.. That is unless Gillis has given up on him and is looking at someone else more seriously. lumberman
pssssst, Mike, wake up. Did ya hear, Eakins going to Edmonton? Wad they give up? Wadya mean, he's the head coach, I only talked to hime twice, was going to bring him back a couple more times, I wanted to be sure.
