I'm in Washington camping with my trailer.

I spent the last 6 days in Alta lake WA, it's high desert and hotter than hell, really nice place highly recommend if your sick of rain

Anyway I'm going into the north cascades and was wondering if anyone has been through HWY 20 and where to stop ect.

Or if anyone had any good or bad experiences anywhere camping I'd like to hear about it.

Pff camping with a trailer isn't camping. Tent bro.

Went twice last year, both times awful rainy weather in June but great times with about 8 of us either way.

I don't know any camp sites in that location. All I know is i'll never recommend Allouette Lake camp grounds to anyone. Its overpriced, the rules are too strict and the camping isn't even nice.

If you want to do real camping, go hike somewhere with a supplies and camp in the middle of no where.

Campsites suck, but if you like it I say GO FOR IT because it keeps people out of the backcountry.

BC has unbelievable backcountry access by logging road. Anyone interested should pick up a copy of "Scrambles of Southwestern BC", that book is my bible.

And just to make you jealous, this weekend I start a 2 week trek through the Bernese Alps. The Eiger ftw.

I love to camp, but I prefer backpacking to regular camping. I could never camp in a trailer, and haven't used a tent in ages. I usually take a hammock, nice a comfortable and incredibly lightweight, with a fly on top and mesh on the sides you keep the bugs/rain out really well. It does take a bit of setup if its quite windy, because you'll have to block the wind from hitting the bottom of the hammock or it will be very cold, but a few cedar boughs stacked on the ground under you does the trick quite well.

I'm doing a trip up mount Cheam pretty soon, and hoping to explore the area around hope this summer, but to be honest I can't wait for summer to be over so winter camping season can begin. Less people in the back country and no bugs = far better camping, plus in the summer we usually have friends who are casual campers who want to tag along, nothing worse than roughing it with someone who is used to a tent, giant cooler of food, truck full of gear, etc. I literally just got off the phone with a friend who wants to come up Cheam with us... and bring his high maintenance fiance and two kids, needless to say he isn't invited.
