Canuck or Die
Not a surprise. Now tell them to let go of Iginla so we can sign him.
kacholu
Not surprised by the signing. On a sad note, there will be no Malkin to Vancouver proposals
timberz21
I know its just a 800k raise, but WOW Malkin and Crosby take almost 1/3 (28%) of the salary cap. And why is Malkin making more than Crosby again?

Mr.53
No way. No way they can afford this. Unless theyre planning a sign and trade this is a bad signing in my opinion. That's a lot of money.

Sugar baby watermelon
wow, 2 players taking up to 30% of the entire team salary, yikes, wonder how they will surround them with talent in the upcoming years. too much invested in two players who always end up being injured. Love the players who take the hometown discounts to give their team a chance even more now.
The Brahma Bull
Crosby and Malkin are greedy. Ever think to try and make your team better so that you can compete for a cup? Oh well, I guess they will just make as much as possible and get swept by the Bruins again.
timberz21
Because Crosby signed for 12 years before the contract limit was put in place.
Baka
I don't believe this signing can truly be evaluated until after this next season because that is when it will really rip apart the roster. Even if they have the two best players in the world even Penguins history implies it takes much more than that. But we will see how it plays out. Baka
Make sense It's just a 800k raise, they paid Malkin and Crosby the same salary for years now. Losing Iginla's 7M and Morrow's 4.1M. They will trade Fleury (even if he said he wouldn't) or buyout Paul Martin (even if still good enough) before losing Letang to UFA or having to trade him.
