Colton Orr signed a new two-year, $1.85 million deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday.

The 2012-13 season marked the final year of a four-year deal Orr signed with the Leafs prior to the 2009-10 season worth $1 million per season.

After spending a significant portion of the 2011-12 season with the Leafs' American Hockey League affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, Orr regained his role as the Leafs enforcer last season under head coach Randy Carlyle and new general manager Dave Nonis.

He registered one goal and three assists, registering 155 penalty minutes in 44 regular season games with the Leafs in 2012-13. He would also dress for all seven games of the Leafs' first round playoff series against the Boston Bruins.

Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Boston Bruins in 2001, Orr has appeared in 422 career NHL games with the Bruins, Maple Leafs and New York Rangers. He has scored 12 goals and 12 assists over that span while accumulating 1,076 penalty minutes.

This is actually a terrible signing by Nonis, not really sure why everyone thinks its brilliant.

If you're keeping a slugger, may as well keep one who can do SOMETHING on the ice like McLaren.
