CanuckRow
At full capacity the arena can hold 14,500, while one end of the rink has very limmited viewing, so it appears no seats availability there. The seats nearly tower over the boards. It will be smallest capacity in the NHL. Here's a picture tweeted by @ChrisDaniels5

Canucks fan in chicago
wow...that's kind of sad. Winnipeg's arena sits 15,000 and they're in the smallest market in the league.
DeNiro
I think smaller arenas are going to be the norm for smaller market teams going forward. What's the point of having an 18,000 seat arena when it's never full? This is the right sized arena for a team like the isles.

Lockhart
It don't see the capacity being a problem when they aren't going to sell out 18,000 anyway unless it's a playoff game.

Jägermeister
I think it would be more emberassing for them to have >10,000 people in a 18,000 arena like some teams around the league have.

CanuckRow
I agree, nothing wrong with a full smaller arena, brings more atmosphere than some of these empty cathedrals lol.
Kamero89
They'll get sellouts every night playing in NYC, and that boost their attendance. So it's actually s step up. The amount of private boxes in the arena will also make them more, than Nassau. They'll probably find space to add an extra 500-1000 seats eventually. That empty part behind one of the goals, will likely turn into a standing room area, or a restaurant. Rogers Arena's capacity for Canucks games has grown by about 1k since it opened. Drouin
Thought fans were finally starting to attend the Isles games this yr in the playoffs. Brooklyn gets two teams in less than 2 years. Nets+Isles, and their logo's are fairly similar lol
Salmonberries
NY doesn't need/shouldn't have three teams anyway.

La Mauviette75
That really doesn't look that bad to me at all. It's a really nice slick building. Who cares how big it is? That seating map is old by the way, it's what they came up with when they were thinking of playing some pre-season games there last year (but the lockout happened). Those seats on one end could actually be some really fun standing room/bar seats. It would be interesting to be that close to the action but higher up than usual, instead of plastered against the glass where you can't really see much. It actually kind of reminds me of the wall in left field at Fenway Park. There's no bleachers, just a few premium seats and standing room on top of the wall, and it's a really cool feature. 'Nucks Fan from Montana
If you think Barclays Center is embarrassing...here's Key Arena's hockey layout in Seattle, which is a potential destination for the Coyotes if they don't get their ducks in a row in Glendale. The Arena's Wikipedia page says it can seat around 15K for hockey, but I call BS on that one. More like 12K max.
Moonshinefe
The Islanders showed flashes of being a great team moving forward in the future, taking a huge step out of the bottom of the basement and giving the Pens a run for their money after finally making the playoffs. I loved the heart and passion these guys show this last season against Crosby and his crew. It'd be nice if they could get a modern arena.
