So..... We are just talking UFAs here?

( sorry to everyone I corrected... Didn't realize it changed)

I believe the 6 players include RFA's. If there are RFA's that are not included in the 6 player negotiation group they will be exposed to possible offer sheets, if the team that owns their rights still wants to retain them they will have to do so once the free agency period in July begins.

That is basically exposing free agents just for the sake of exposing them. (Although, that seems like the point)

If a player is not being offered what is fair, then it makes sense to hope for an offer sheet.... But how many actually happen in the NHL?

Very very happy to bring in David and Ryan. David brings proven playoff experience and a cup ring, while Ryan brings additional grit the team seems to have been missing in recent weeks.

Richards - Krejci - Marleau

Smith - Stastny - Frolik

D'Agostini - Gordon - Clarkson

Bowman - Cizikas - White

Rupp, Lander (pending)

IR: Burish, Steen (pending)

Sustr - Petry

Bouillon

Varlamov

OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY...the trade that will be posted later is most likely one involving the Rangers, and we have been very excitedly silent waiting for it to be made. Luca Sbisa has been made aware he is on the move, and rumour has it Milan Michalek has been searching for a house in the greater New York, New York area. As previously stated a total of six players involved in the trade and all have been informed at this time. ...... :bigblush:

In real life its quite common for RFA's to be technically on the market after July 1st. We just don't see many offersheets.

As an example with the Canucks this past year, Jordan Schroeder was not resigned until July 24th, 19 days after free agency opened. Dale Weise was resigned a day later.

What this will do is force teams to choose RFA's as one of those six to prevent them from being exposed to the market by doing that it could push a UFA from that team into the market. Should make for a busy free agency.
