REPORT: After careful deliberations, the New York Islanders will be considering their approach toward the trade deadline.

Players not previously available may become possible trading chips.

The next month, and after gauging subsequent interest, may be the deciding factor in the team's focus for the future.

TRADE: The Florida Panthers have made a trade with the Calgary Flames.

To FLA:

Marc-Edouard Vlasic

Stephane Da Costa

Mike Matheson

To CGY:

Michael Del Zotto

Michael Stone

Chris Brown

FLA 2014 1st Round Draft Selection

We are very pleased to welcome Marc-Eduard to our organization. He brings a lot of stability to our backend, and provides us with a playoff pedigree that we lacked on the back-end. We have been very active in trying to acquire a defenseman on a top team and we felt that Marc-Eduard was the right fit for our organization moving forward. We did lose a lot of young talent in the deal, notably Michael Del Zotto, who had struggled to adapt to the system we have in place in Florida, he is a very skilled young defenseman and we hope he can turn in around in Calgary. We also gained two very good young players in Stephane Da Costa and Mike Matheson. Stephane is a very skilled player who we feel has the ability to play at the NHL level and be productive. He will add nicely to our Senators contingent. Mike is a very special young defenseman. We are very high on Mike's ability, he is a tremendous all-around defenseman and we eagerly await him turning pro. We wish the best of luck to Chris, Michael and Michael in Calgary.

Updated lineup when our 2nd trade is announced.

REPORT: Calvin de Haan and Dan Boyle could be available before the Olympic deadline. While the Lightning have been leaning towards keeping Dan Boyle, their eyes and years are open to anything that will make the team better.

Also of note, it has been noted that Carey Price's NMC does not kick in until August, leading many insiders to believe that he may be available. However, when asked about that, GM y0shi scoffed and said, the NMC was structured in that way, because that was the earliest the CBA would allow us to give him a NMC.
