Primal Optimist
Rangers Roundup! Mikael Backlund pulled his good second half of January into February last night with a short handed goal and an overtime game winner! Backlund has 5 goals and 3 assists totalling 8 points in his last 4 NHL Games. 19 points since December 4th and just 8 points in the two months before that, we are very happy to see Mikael finding his game and we hope the success continues! Mike Smith started February on the right path with a decisive win in a game where he was the first star. January was not kind to Mike, where he struggled to get a win until the 16th of the month. From that date on mike is 4-2-1 in net. Alexei Emelin is the lone player on the ice today for the Rangers, and let me just step outside the box for moment to express my rage at the Denver Broncos. Back in 87, 88 and 90 I bet on John Elway's Bronco's to win the Superbowl or Superb Owl if we are ducking licensing rights... ...anyway....Of course the Bronco's lose all three contests and I resign myself to the idea they may never win the Superb Owl. Fast forward to 1998, I proudly declare that the Denver Bronco's will once again choke on cake and lose the big game. The only thing lost that day was my 100 dollar bet. The 4th such bet John Elway cost me. One year later...there is no way they can repeat, right? Wrong. burned another hun that day.... ...and that brings us to today. I was never a Bronco's fan, I just thought hey, that John Elway is pretty good, I will bet on him...and he burned me three times, almost a decade later he is back in the dance and I learned my lesson and bet against him..twice...and that little S.O.B. burned me two more times the opposite way. and therefore... GO SEATTLE GO!!!!! Destroy Denver on 3, ready, BREAK!

Caboose
A terrible start to the month sees the Wild fall back to 7th. Was December and January's surge a fluke?

Teams that are considering themselves sellers should contact the Bruins if they have available playoff pieces. The Bruins have a mountains of 2014 picks, 2015 picks, prospects, roster peices and unsigned prospects in play for the right upgrades. Lets make a deal! Caboose
Something tells me the deadline will not see many sellers, with so many teams just a few hundred points out.
greensman
Something tells me the deadline will not see many sellers, with so many teams just a few hundred points out. Depends, I have chatted with some borderline teams recently who are realizing that a last minute wildcard into the playoffs isnt the same as being a contender. As the olympic break comes along, I think we could see some unexpected movement withing the middle to lower pack. Time will tell, but teams looking to get younger and acquire picks should really consider contacting me...

Caboose
Also, Curtis Glencross can be had for a 2nd rounder. Injured right now, but an effective player when on his game.
