TRADE: The Montreal Canadiens have made a trade with the Edmonton Oilers.

To MTL:

Anton Lander

To EDM:

Brian Strait

The Habs are pleased to add Anton to the squad, and would like to wish Brian luck in Edmonton. With the blueline finally getting healthy, Strait got caught in a numbers game and ended up being the guy moved. We wish him the best.

With an open spot now available on the blueline, the Habs make the following move:

Activation: Montreal activates Paul Postma from the LTIR.

NOTICE: Teams can expect agent hirings to be posted in the next few days.

Some teams may want to clarify their position in regards to free agency by communicating to me the players they will NOT be re-signing. This may help clear things up with your club in regards to potential negotiations with other players and help give us an idea as to the group of players that will be available in July on the open market.

If you'd like to let me know which players you will not be holding extension talks with, let me know via PM asap.

Report: Phoenix is looking to add an impact D - and is willing to part with pending UFA (including one of Moulson/Cammalleri), as well as some of the plethora of prospects. Furthermore we are looking to improve our Centre depth.

With that being said - Phoenix IS NOT in selling mode, just retooling mode. Thus GM Squeak will not entertain offers that are greatly subtracting from their roster by moving players with long term contracts for pending UFA. ( so stop offering it................)

Rumour: The Habs appear to be itching to make a few more moves ahead of the trade deadline in just a few short weeks. Anyone not named Nash, Burns, Galchenyuk, Filppula, Johnson and Berra are rumoured to be available, including youngsters like Pirri, Domi, Koekkoek, Faksa and their 2014 1st Round Pick...

The Rangers GM and Director of Hockey Operations and Chief Financial Officer will be in the office dawn to dusk tomorrow ironing out some wrinkles in the lineup, of serious concern is the lack of one bottom six winger. As was previously reported the NYR's have a good amount of draft picks to wield but GM PO is firm on not trading any 1st or 2nd rounders until much much closer to deadline day, if at all.
