So he's improved since last year - nice to hear. Kuzma reported at the start of the season that Green had his challenges with a few players down in Utica last year to make them understand what it means to be a pro on and off the ice and Shinkaruk was one of them. logic
I think McCann and Shinkaruk would work real good together on a line with Etem or Virtanen

Frazzy Desjardins
After seeing players like gaudreau and Larkin excel in the skills comp and asg as well as many others. There's no way we should let go of a player like Shinkaruk, his tenacity and nose for the net and absolute adoration of scoring is just what this teams needs. I see his name in a lot of proposals and I know this is all speculation on my part.... but he blows everyone away every pre season just to get cut every year it seems. He's finally an all star at the ahl level and I think he should be one of Bennings untouchables. I'm super excited to see him as a regular next season. I agree with you about Shinkaruk progressing nicely. I do think, though, he might not be a JB guy, so he might just be trade bait. Like you say: an addition to a guy like Hammer or Vrby to return a better piece.

I dont think he is a JB guy either..if all reports were true he has been offered up for trade before..which leads me to believe he will be again..it wouldnt surprise me if he was...might be better for him in the long run..kid blows everyone away in the spring only to get sent down...he is a 1st round pick that was supposed to go higher than he did and fell to us...if McCann and Virt are getting time wqith the big team to learn the game I dont know why Shink hasnt been treated the same. I agree that it's weird he's being treated differently; However, I think it's been good for him. He's come a long way in the A and if he does get to hit the ice with the Canucks, I think the over ripening process will have been very much worth it. I hope he doesn't get traded, because I think he's gonna turn heads when he hits the big club.

I'm super excited to see him as a regular next season. - I agree that Shinkaruk raised his stocks in the Canucks prospect pool this year - I do not agree he blew everyone away the past two training camp. He was good, specially this year, but enough to earn top 6 minutes with the Canucks? Don't think so. He needed this AHL playing time to develop and if it wasn't for Baerstchi and Horvat picking it up lately, I believe we might have seen Shinkaruk with the Canucks. I believe we will see him this year, which IMO was the plan all along for Shinkaruk....1.5 to 2 seasons in the minors, especially after a tough one last year, before making the NHL. - I agree that we should keep Shinkaruk, since we developed him and molded him our way, and there is no point of trading him for another forward, that we didn't control his development. However if Shinkaruk could be used to poach a top defensive prospect like Bowey, Theodore, Lindholm, etc., then I wouldn't classify him as untouchable. Which between Kirby Rychel and Shink would be more of a JB kind of guy? I'm wondering if that might be a trade that could have some legs?

McCann and Virtanen would be playing AHL if they could. Instead they sit down every once in a while as part of their development.

I dont know why you want to bring up Shink in all your trade proposals..is it because you think he is our only prospect with value or is it because you dont like him that much...Shink is an A all star this year..Rychel isnt close but size wise Rychel fits JBs mold I guess..
