Shink would still need a playmaker to get the most of him, and that might be Vey

Vey has had a nice little resurgence here, but if he's one of our regular top 9 centers going forward, we're in trouble.

Once everyone is healthy we should be trading him for a defenseman.

There wont be a lot of room.....considering Virt and McCann are givens...Zalweski is also pretty much a lock and you will need some veteran presence   ..and Gaunce might slot in over Shink...I hope Im wrong cuz I love the kid but I just dont see much of a future here for Shink.

I could see both Virt and McCann spending time in Utica next year.

Ok, despite Shinks success I still don't think hes that good to become a legit top 6, he seem to be at the same category where Vey is. I'd like to be wrong though

He's also 4 years younger than Vey.

So if he's at the same level as Vey now, that's a good thing. Still lots of time to develop for Shinkaruk.

Vey on the other hand is looking like this will be the player he is. Not good enough to be a permanent top 9, and not gritty enough to play in the bottom 6.

Category not level, Vey and Shink could be at the same level when Vey was 21, maybe a bit better too.

Vey at 21 putting was putting great numbers in the A, and he probably had the same hype as Shink now has.

I wouldn't say they're the same category at all. Unless you're generalizing them as both smaller players.

Shinkaruk is faster, more tenacious retrieving the puck, and has a much better shot. He's also a goal scorer, not a playmaker.

Vey has better vision and can cycle the puck, but his skating is a bit of an issue for a player his size. He also needs to shoot the puck more and battle for loose pucks.

Hunter is riding a very high shooting percentage right now. It's over 19%. So everyone should calm down just a little.

I wouldn't trust that too much. Of you watch comet games you'd know that he shoots alot. It's likely that they missed quite a few shots.  No wayour he's scored 1 of every 5 shots.

And I don't think anyone is outhe of line with the shinkaruk projections. Seems pretty realistic for the most part.
