Derp...
How bout that Shinkaruk guy. Heard he was an 89 in NHL13, and was drafted inside the top 5. Steal at 24th if that's right :D
R3aL
Hunters goal should be to make the team next year, and a more realistic goal should be to play a full season in the AHL and be a PPG. I want hunter to focus on strength and recovery right now, gain a little weight, rehab his injuy and tear the AHL up next season

elvis15
He fell to 24th cause of his hip problems. It's highly debatable if there was anything identified as an injury at that point or if it just hadn't felt as good for him as movements for his other hip. wshdrvvn
that does however seem more likely than "character issues", which was being bounced around as the cause of his slide at the time of the draft.
dragon4401
D. SEDIN - H. SEDIN - Kesler SHINKARUK - HORVAT - Kassian Fixed...Sedins and Kes have good chemistry so lets take advantage and Horvat and Shink looked good at camp and adding Kass to them gives us our top line of the future
Nicklas Bo Hunter
People putting shinkaruk in the line up over Jensen are just funny. not even giving shinkaruk a chance. I fear for next year when he is not producing in the AHL people are going to turn on him so fast.

BabychStache
Shinkaruk out played Jensen at camp, he has way more skill and brings something to the team that's lacking, speed and finish.
Derp...
I heard he's got 99 power on his shot! Lolz I'm a big fan of Shinkaruk's game. When he's on he's real good, and even when he's off he can be a game changer in one play. Don't forget he wants to prove something to every team that passed on him in the draft. Motivation is a key component on the way to success

It is stating that they are putting too much pressure on shinkaruk.people are going to flip when they see the kind of year shinkaruk has next year. Jensen also had an injury and was adjusting to north american style..... jensen will be in the nhl next year while shinkaruk gets an ahl season which is best for him. I'm guessing they'll both be in the AHL next year. I think Jensen still needs another year'ish. It'll be a battle between the two of them who is the first call up with top 6-9 injuries. tas
i don't see shinkaruk being an offensive dynamo in the ahl next year. based on how other highly skilled offensive prospects have developed in the canucks system, i'd be pretty surprised to see him score at more than a 40-50 pt pace. Ya he probably won't score much playing with the likes of Gaunce, Jensen, Fox, Grenier etc... It's hard to score a lot with them when he's playing half the season in the NHL. Even if Shink got 0 NHL games next year and only AHL games, he will be the most dynamic offensive player for the Comets.
